The problem we all face is that the Republicn Party has so srewed the goose (check out John Deans third book on the Rebpubs ,Broken Government).He clearly weaves a tale of the demise of the Grand Old Party.It's a tragic tale of greed and tunnel vision.
Obama just happens to be the one who got to got to the finish line first.and will reap the reward.In reality,the Amercan people would vote just about any Democrat into office rather then chance a second helping of the same. I'm by no means convinced that Obama is the best foot we could have put forward,I have doubts. But there is just no trust in the party that so insisted that a fool like w was what was best for the country. Twice.
In fact,he and his posse have been out to enrich themselves, and rule as a private white mens club (Condi asside). Why would Americans trust another white guy,under any circumstances?Obama is the the young bright straight talker (as he percieves himself) that will raise half a billion $ $50.00 at a time. Hillary represented another alternative to rich white guys,a woman. She would have beat anything the GOP put forward as well,because your man w,once again,has failed so miserably.
I don't see a path to victory for anyone other then Obama,no matter how many stages he sets up (an old trickey and raygun ploy) or attacks on his experience, race or name. No body cares about those things. Period.
I think rather then spreading hate ( some postings) and acting in other juvinile ways, loyal GOP members may want to take the path of least resisdence: start building bridges to those disinfrangized republicans that would come back if the message was clear from the party.
Until that happens,it's jsut a sad funneral march to oblivion.

Why is it that a preson can't say they won't vote for Obama because he is a black Farakan following Muslim, but it's alright to say you won't vote for McCain because he's a white guy? Seems like a double standard to me. I trust alot of white men. My dad for one, and also my uncles and cousins. I trust myself and I'm a cracker. I thought you guys on the west coast were more enlightened than to use that form of rhetoric there TallCal. The only reason Obama will win in the South is because the majority of Southern states are majority black. I'll be willing to bet money that the White Majority in this country will vote for McCain.

Well Dr. King did say...We will overcome. And here we are not even 50 years later.
Forget Obama's race, Muslim heritage, the eloquent speeches somebody writes for him, and other such factors; evaluate his career and what he has ACCOMPLISHED since he got out of college that would qualify him to be president. Consider not what he says he will do, but what he has DONE in the House and Senate. His voting record is the MOST LIBERAL in the entire Senate, in spite of having missed over 240 votes this past year. He has never compromised on his radical left-wing ideology, in spite of his glowing rhetoric about bringing everyone together. His character and judgement are highly questionable, given his known associations with domestic terrorists (William Ayers), racist hate-mongers (Rev. Wright and Father Pfleger), and sleazy convicted felons (Tony Rezko). He has actually not sponsored any significant legislation whatsoever, and has no record of leadership and executive decision making since holding elective office. He has never held a real job, other than his brief tenure with a civil rights law firm. It's hard to believe the Democrat party couldn't come up with a better candidate than this guy. Bottom line is he's just another slick talking politician who will say anything to get elected. The reality is that he's less qualified for the job than Ralph Nader.

I do believe you are onto something but something that you fail to mention is that the GOP seems to have more minorities in non-elected positions than the Dems have ever had. You also use the same old "rich white guys party' stuff, well look around, there seems to be a lot of minorities who are part of the GOP. The other thing that gets me is that Obama, like other dems are still using the same hate the rich line and you are one of them rich people, you make over $250k gross, don't you? I would think that you would be of the mindset that would welcome lower taxes, but I guess not.
and Tallcal, what has Obama really done? Nothing, not a thing as a senator. Hillary has, so has McCain which is still not much but he has dome something. If we entrust our country to a smooth talking person like Obama, we will end up with a country that looks like Detroit.
Pilgrim, the problem is the Repubs haven't gotten any real strong leadership in the party at this point and McCain is the only thing they got to show for it. I hope that he does not pick Huckster for VP because of his platitude of a fair campaign he feels that should be used, not attacking obama. I think the repubs need to get really dirty with this election and pull out all the stops, pointing out to the public that Obama has friends who are eqaul to McVeigh and so on. But the amazing thing is they lead in party money like 5 to 1 against the dems, so I would think they can outspend the dems in the long run.

Now in a situation like that you got to ask yourself is it going to be me or him. What would U have done.

Color has nothing to do with it. Competency has everything to do with it. Obama votes "present" more than he votes yes or no because he doesn't want to be associated with a position on a topic. He's done nothing in his life except be a government leach. It's all he knows. He's incompetent and unqualified in addition to being as liberal and socialist as one can be. Those are the only reasons to be against him, not color. Some of my best friends and people I admire most are not the same skin color as me. One has a son I want to see as mayor of Houston and perhaps more. It's all about who is least harmful for the country and no matter how you slice it Obama is the greatest threat to this nation in decades.

Plus the medicine I'm on that says right on the side effects it will cause weight gain.

ArkJar: Like alot that took the full Antharx shot series 2 times and was only suppose to get a booster I broke out. But I won. Far as Gulf War syndrom that dam shot was what led to many peoples problems. By the way if you got the shot its in ya for life. When you break out Cyphro is the only cure by pills for a month or better and Injections 3 times a week for 3 weeks. Didnt cause me to gain Weight that just painful sores that were of Deacaying flesh all puss Yuk right. Yeah I got the anthrax shot as well as the smallpox. The medication that caused me to gain weight is what they perscribed me at the VA for my seizures due to the nasty head injury I received. I'm 100% disabled. If I could run 5 miles and all that I used to do you think I would be sitting on VA compensation?
