I can arrange it so the range will let us play.
Then you can tell the truth to everyone on here.
Good Grief Charlie I thought you were smarter than that.
Now HOOORAAAAA

What are you Army Nasty Guard? I was joking but you want to take and make things personal. I always ran a first class PFT and was an Expert Marksman with the Rifle and Pistol. You always ramble and no one understands what you are saying.

C'mon, Jay! I don't know how many times I've brought this up. We bought a Honda van. Not only is it the best made van out there, but it is 70% American/Canadian made! Not Ford, GM, or Chrysler... HONDA! Now what was the big 3's excuse that they made crap? Internal bureaucracy and the UAW. What was their answer? Move their plants to Mexico, where they still make crap.

Sorry... but buying Japanese is buying American.
Not unless its a Mazda. Mazda is owned by Ford. :)

My Mom and Dad bought a brand new Honda Odyssey in 2001. Your right, it is a very nice mini van. But, so is the Dodge Caravan. I have drove both. I actually find the Dodge more comfortable and it has more power than the Honda. But, the Honda maneuvers better. I know Honda, Toyota, etc make vehicles here. But, I wonder if they bring as many jobs as Ford, GM, and Chrysler have lost... Here is a good question. When you buy one of those locally manufactured imports, where does the money go? Does it stay here in the USA, or does it go overseas?

The answer would be both places. You've got the portion that's paid in salaries, utilities, maintenance, remodeling etc. etc. to local workers and service companies. You've also got the portion that's paid to the various suppliers of components. If the domestic content is 70% one would presume approx 70% of the parts cost is paid within the U.S. as well. The remainder goes to the company as the profit per vehicle. Part of that also returns to the U.S. in the form of stockholder dividends paid to shareholders, a number of whom are domestic fund advisers and individuals. It isn't people choosing Honda over Ford that's the problem. It's the onerous taxation system that's the problem.

Just how bad is it? Me thinks Fox and CNN are shoving it up our pipes and the flag wavers are buying the crap....

19 Saudis?

I'll counter that with Mcvey and Nichols...

I don't care how good we think our security is splinter groups and well organized criminals will find a way...It won't stop. We have the enemy from within as well...

Most countries do this global aid thingee and the west does it well...but it's more for future political gain then the welfare of the citizens, oh sure they put on the front of how we help everyone...but bottomline....thiers favours owed..just like the lobby groups and politcal contributions.

Yes, we will always have those who want to do damage to us. In McVey's case, it was a response to government intrusion into our lives. In the terrorists' case it was a call against Western influence. Any way you look at it, we have NOT had anything like another 911 since the first. I'd have to say we're doing a fine job of taking their mind off of jihad in the US by taking the war to THEM.

I agree...hard to organize when your on the run...and we get one here and one there and break their chain of command...

Thats one promise The President has lived up to....we've not been attacked again on his watch..
Thats the problem with Obama..he'll back off the pressure on the middle east and they'll be able to regroup...
I think at least McCain will keep the pressure on...We can only hope his pick for Vice will be economy minded.

I don't know about that, we gave a cr*p load of money to the people of the tsunami and we didn't get much in return, a lot of criticism about the country. Being in Africa, I didn't see much in the US political spin on things, the concern was to get stuff where it was needed but the UN got in the way every step we took. I also think you don't realize the amount we give as a country, a lot of it is not counted by the WHO/UN/CARE/Unicef and they are screaming that we need to get our act together and give based on our GDP.

Well what kind of picture do you want to see?

There are things that no one seems to want to hear, so let's stick our head in the sand and cry about it later we we have nothing left?

The fact is Mexico can invade us (and has by all accounts), it is not about having a defensive strength but rather be able to defend the country and it's way of life (meaning economy and so on).

The other thing that many still just don't get is that in order for us to deal with the middle east, we must present ourselves as a strong nation. They don't want to deal with the weak, they feel the week needs to be destroyed.
