New to Expediting

Hi all,
I'm new to to expediting and OTR. I just bought a truck
(2000 FL70 w/ 22' box) and I'm trying to get everything figured out that I need. I've been driving T/T local for about 3 years, but this OTR and O/O is new to me, so much to learn!!
I live in Ohio.
Near as I figure;
I need IRP plates (from Findlay, OH)
I need IFTA Stickers. (from where?)
I need KYU # (From where?)
Somethings that I'm missing I'm sure!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Lance,

Sorry for my comments and harshness but I would have researched all of that first because these are things that you need to know before you buy the truck.

There are little tips, like knowing that sales tax may not be collected by the state because the vehicle is used for interstate commerce.

The other thing is do you have your own authority and independent or are you working for a company like FedEx, Panther or Express-1?

Have you ever owned a truck before?

So many questions that needed to be answered before considering this work.

Thanks for the sales tax tip! I haven't paid that yet.
I'm planning on leasing on with Prestige Expedite.
I own two other flatbed trucks, and a semi, that we use for local deliveries of lumber and building materials from our hardware store.
However, on the rare occasion that we go out of state I just get a trip permit from WCS.

OK if that's the case, call prestige and talk to them about the permits, IFTA and KY permit - they should provide them. I would recommend that you get your own plates in case you change companies.
