Greg, I believe that the Feds are out of control.
I do too but this isn't a federal issue - it is a state issue.
We have the Supreme Court INVENTING rights, like the right to abortion, making law, forced busing, ...
NO the supreme court didn't give the right of abortion to the country, they said that the right to privacy exceeds the rights of the state. The interesting thing about this is how does obama care ensure that the right to privacy is applied across the board equally? It doesn't, and if it does go to court, it can overturn or restrict the Roe v Wade decision in ways they the liberals will scream about.
Making laws?
Well that happens everywhere, including the lower federal and state courts - jury nullification anyone?
Busing is an issue that goes back to the civil war - the states gave up their rights because of the action of the federal government to "preserve the union". Eisenhower used troops to enforce federal laws, and we have a very strong federal law enforcement system that is no where in the constitution and a few think that it is part of the military, but are used to effectively occupy the states which is prohibited by that constitution.
and Obama and the Congress bypassing the 10th amendment to FORCE health care on us.
Yes but we, the people, allowed this to happen. Want the enforce the 10th, repeal the 17th and the 23st, 25th and 26th amendments. Get rid of those damaging amendments and you can return to a strong 10th amendment.
What part of the Constitution gives the IRS the legal authority to administer health care?
That's the 16th and 17th amendment. What does Levin have to do with DC taxis?
If New Jersey can out law guns, a right which IS in the Constitution, then Michigan can outlaw abortion, which is not. Want to bet what those twerps on the Supreme Court would say about that?
I think they wouldn't say a word, that's not what the issue was, it was privacy. NO one has yet actually written laws that fit into the pattern to protect privacy while outlawing the procedure - goes back to my point that if it is a woman's body, why can't she sell an organ.
The same with the 2nd amendment, I don't see a single case where class 3 firearms are being brought up in the courts to say this is an infringement of the right to own uninhibited a class 3 firearm while for the past 85 years there has been a law against it and the use of a 'tax' has been effective in controlling the access and use of class 3 firearms
...
so I think if you support the constitution as it was written and the underlying foundation of it, including absolute property rights, then you can complain but if you believe in the compromise of rights that the feds and states have inflicted on us, then you can't be acting like the skies falling.
