Drove new gas PM to Dr in OmahaNE today and really like it since problem with my Diesel PM. 600 miles today in a lot
Of wind and getting 17.9 mpg.

The fuel mileage may go up as the van breaks in. Are you driving it for a company this time or finding another driver again?

I am just using it for personal use now. I got approved after a 7 yr wait to get my left hip replaced so will be out of commission for 3 months. Surgery is May 12th.

I guess the excitement of something new is soon tarnished with the advent of lousy manufacturing and government intervention into global warming. Oh, of course the service department is here to help and the clown that sold the product is nowhere to be seen or is in hiding till you have gone on your way...wish you the best, but that does not fix your new ride......oh the days of simplicity are forever a memory of days gone by....

When the OP first posted about a problem with the ProMaster, I Google "ProMaster Fail" and had to go to the third page before I found a negative post. Today, there are numerous post about ProMaster fails and the OPs has moved to page four. A sample post (now on the first page): http://www.motortrend.com/cars/2014/ram/promaster/recalls/ I tend to believe that EO and the OP had helped in moving this posting to the front page of Google.

well nearly every new diesel is having DEF problems of one kind or another.....we as a country really need to clean up our diesel....this 40 cetane crap is just that.....a 50 would burn so much cleaner and produce more HP and get rid of the Bio crap as well.....all that waxiness is not helping at all....so many little factors make for one big F-----kup! IMO
This is true. For a developed country, our diesel is dirty straight from the refinery, and aging infrastructure allows water to contaminate it.

The extra refining steps will make the price rise, just like we saw when steps were taken to remove sulfur. It's a catch-22.

Don't know about DEF issues but as far as the EGR valve goes, they clog due to over idling (same reason for frequent DPF regens). You should minimize idling on these things as much as possible, and when you do have to idle, it should be a high idle at around 1200 rpm.

Also as was mentioned, use only a quality diesel fuel with the highest cetane rating possible to ensure a more complete burn with less soot to clog the egr.

Discounted fuel is no discount if it's crap quality.

My driver was told my me to absolutely not idle and use heater I supplied and driver idled for most of day and night and next morning had to be towed. Turned down 3 runs and quit and deadheaded home 1400 miles. Now she can't understand low paycheck. I drive a v 6 version now but can't find a driver so will probably be forced to sell and take a loss.

Don't be so fast to call it quits. I'll send you a message.
