If you use Microsoft Streets and Trips you should look at Truck Stops Plus for a very handy and useful add in. I have it and really like it for planning fuel stops along my route.

Leo,
Thanks for that. It led me to other info I needed. The file can be shared between computers if you have a team who uses different laptops.

The only problem is;

it uses pushpins which can be moved

and I didn't see rv dump sites on the list or did I miss that? (that is for the RVing expediters)

I wish that MS would allow things to be added to the POI database, it would make life a lot easier.

I don't know about dump sites. It also has all the super walmarts, rest areas, weigh stations and a few other things so it's pretty useful for trip planning. I have never had a problem with anything moving but that's not to say it can't happen. Overall I'm pleased I got it.

Moose: did you run the installation disc to install it? If not, you may be running a free trial version, that wouldn't include the GPS. If you installed your version, I'm stuck - sorry.

Moose that's a new one.

The bundled GPS receiver should show up in your manage system/device list.

Well first try this.....

VisualGPS™ to see if it picks the GPS unit up, then try S&T to see what is going on. This software is pretty neat and is good for troubleshooting GPS receivers.
