Leo,your implication that I either called you,or infered that you are a racist is off base.
It's your refusal to consider that you may have to swallow your pride(and perhaps some cool aid)for the whats best for our nation.Change never comes without some degree of pain. Those of us who pegged W as a potenial leaderless zombie wandering around the Whitehouse in a clueless dream state certainly understand pain, believe me!But what are you going to do.Talk about Kool Aid dispensers, the Republican money machine mangaed to dupe the citizens of this country on the heels of 911 and squeak out a win.Twice.

I'm not sure I got your point about your Father being a prominant Doctor and your inference that I think your a racist or a sexist.I have no doubt that as a Father of bright, well educated daughters, they keep you on track on the sexisit issue.I know mine does me.I would never think of you as a rasicst either. But lets face it,the Republican party has been the party that has been accused of paying black politicians to pull some pretty ugly strings in precincts in both Florida and Ohio.Bush has made it clear through out his 7 years that the problems of the balck communities around our nation are not high on his agenda.Under great presure from the world commuinity he did make significant financial commitments to fight AIDS in Africa while at the same time under funding AIDS research in America. His views on Global warming are an embaressment.

By sqandering so much of our treasure on "his"war,we are much weaker as a nation, with a military that is stretched so very thin.It appears the closing chapter of Bush's fumbling administration will be the worst chaotic mess of a financial catastrophy not seen in this country since the 1930's.It's amazing how good it was when Clinton handed him the reins and how badly he has screwed the goose. You imagine the Clintons as the evil King and Queen of immorality and the libereal scourage all you want. The rest of us will set about correcting the unprecidented garbage heap that this Republican administration has left us with.
Keep the shiney side up buddy.

I wasn't suggesting you called me racist. I was clarifying my thoughts on race/gender. Those are meaningless factors for all but a few strength based occupations. Along with that I was proudly pointing out their origins. Speaking of daughters, my younger daughter is half way through her 3rd year of college. She's earned enough credits that she returned this semester as a senior, not a second semester junior as she should be. Last semester she had a 4.0 gpa on 18 hours. OK, bragging mode off.

I am not thrilled with the last 23 years of presidential politics. There have been good and bad all along the way. While Clinton may have been good at some things he was abominable at others. He certainly wasn't the second coming he frequently is portrayed as. None of the candidates on either side satisfy me. They all are failures when it comes to sovereignty, taxes and spending.

I'll be drinking the settle for far less than desired and vote against the other guy koolaid again this cycle. I don't expect to have anything else to drink for the rest of my life at the rate things are going.

"Those of us who pegged W as a potenial leaderless zombie wandering around the Whitehouse in a clueless dream state certainly understand pain, believe me!"

At least President Clinton was focused, had a pudendum and wanted to get a head. A true leader and visionary! Plus he hated rich dudes. How righteous is that man! Down with the van and gay airport sex.

Yeah moot Clinton wanted to get a head alright. Just because Bill did a good job doesn't mean Hillary will. Just because Obama is half white and half black doesn't mean he's for the black people. If I'm not mistaken he was raised mainly by his mother in a white community. Heck he's just as white as I am. Just got a darker tan is all.

I said all that crazy crap trying to make a point. What does race have to do with it? You know alot of people already consider CLinton to be the first black president. And that's no joke.

"By sqandering so much of our treasure on "his"war,we are much weaker as a nation, with a military that is stretched so very thin."

"His war"? President Bush was able to declare war on Iraq without consent from the congress or the senate? Oh yeah, he misled them and duped the smartest woman in the world. Not bad for a dumbass Texan. Sorry Leo.

Why are we continuing this charade of pretending to elect a new president when we all know that Dictator For Life, George W. Bush will be in charge. A man this powerful will be impossible to get rid of. Kinda like that cigar guy, no not him! The other cigar guy. The one with the beard and yellow eyes.

A military that is stretched so very thin??? Who was it that championed all the military spending cuts in the 1990's. Yeah, it was that cigar guy. No not that one. The one that didn't inhale!

As for inheriting an economic utopia, the economy was in some decline in 1999. Who was that dead guy that handed the reins of a 20 mule team economy over to Clinton?

I don't profess to be a huge George W. Bush supporter, but he is our president. I have benefited from some of the Republican tax cuts and he was the lesser of two evils.

Reality bites sometimes!

Sorry Tallcal it seems that;

The past is important; we have been dumb down enough where we are sheep now. Most of the people can’t tell the difference between a terrorist and a NAZI or that Mandela was an equal to Arafat in both politics and actions.

The only one who has been making a big deal about race are some minority ‘leaders’ who for the most part derived their living off of the hatred they stir up. I hear more and more about someone finding a noose or that golf reporter should be fired because of a word was used. We have become more sensitive because of the people who stir up the hatred.

The message of Rev. King has been truly lost, we as a nation can not recognize Obama as a man running for office but have to recognize him as a black man running for office. Some of his supporters are more racists than David Duke. I don’t look at him as a black man but I have to look at his comments and his inability to pull people together.

The economy drives elections, nothing else. The interest rate issue is important, but so is the border and the trade – all has something to do with the economy. Notice the war does not have a thing to do with the real issues we, as a country, face. But it is not 3000 but over 3900 and for the record, this number is still small when it is compared to other wars.

I also take issue with the idea that the middle class and the poor have only fought the last two major conflicts. The last time I checked WW2 and Korea were also wars that were fought by a lot of middle class and poor people and so was the Philippine insurrection and WW1. Bring back the draft.

I listened to a very interesting conversation on TV tonight, many of you don’t know what Fascism is or what forms it takes but many think that the Democrats are socialist when in fact they are fascist. I drew this conclusion a long time ago when Clinton was pushing more gun laws and health care.

Status Quo, out with the old – in with the new, time for change…. Ok let’s talk change.
You want change, real change? Well it will never happen because a president is elected, he has little power to change anything in the government – it is up to the people and the congress and only one part of that equation is sort of working. Well here goes – this will give real change;
  1. strict term limits for all elected people with the inclusion of not being able to run for additional like offices.
  2. no primaries
  3. scrapping McCain-Feingold
  4. scrapping the progressive – punitive income tax system and replacing it with the fair tax
  5. having a 10th amendment commission and limiting government
  6. get rid of the department of education and don’t ever entertain the idea of a department of piece
  7. get rid of Fema
  8. get rid of Medicaid/welfare
  9. exclude social security to those up to my age or just a little before
  10. repeal the 17th and 26th amendments
  11. close the southern border with a ditch running continuously for the entire length

It really seems to me that there are people not unlike you gentlemen who seem to have your heads in a black plastic bag with the the top drawn tight around your neck.It keeps any light out, which is driven by some inane paranoia that if any of the democratic front runners should happen to get elected it's time to run for the hills.Experience?EXPERIENCE?
May I ever so respectfully remind all of you bright folks that the cheerleader from Crawford did not have as much real life experience, let alone political experience,as either Greg, Ark or I !!!What are you guys thinking,I really don't get it.

How can you make such grandoise statements about the three Demos when the train wreck of all train wreck Preidents was paid for and brought to by the GOP!!!!And you all really wonder why it appears that Americans consider the GOP race a folly and an unoriginized side show? It's not age boys,it's not experience guys,it's the complete failure of the Republicans to get anything done!!Health care, social security,a war based on lies, a sagging economy, the relastionship between the Saads and the Bush's and the price of fuel, idiots like Rumsfield,Cheany and Wolfawitz in positions of power? And allowed to over rule the Military on how to conduct a war?!!
As much as I repect each of you, your so parinoid and in such denial of how we got to this point that you are begaining to not even make any sense. It's as though you would just like to dismiss the last 7 years as a poor experiment, but give us another chance and we can get it right. Not any of those inexperienced, female, black immoral, muslom,HIGHLY INTELllGENT AND EXPERIENCED individuals on the other side should even be considered.Lets see,how about Fred,or Rudy,or Mit(get the picture)their losers boys. And the peoplr know it.Maybe Mike, maybe Mike.Maybe John, but don't count on it.They are not about change
You guys had your chance with W,and much to your chagrin,he blew it for all of you. It's a democracy(kind of)and W should never have been in office in the first place!!

It's funny how when I first started posting on this forum everyone defended W to the last man.I don't hear that now.Oh,you all say he probably could have done better, but we would prefer not to discuss it!!And I can certainly understand why.

So where does that leave us?Complaining on and on about the system, and how screwed up the "system" is and bla bla bla.Well,it's the only one we have, and it will only change by the will of the people.I believe the will of the people may soon be heard from. And if you don't like the results, you have only yourselves to blame. Each and everyone of you who put this clown in office with your vote, not once but twice. You are responsible for the current state of affairs. And quit blaming our sytem, lots of Americans died in real wars to allow us to have it.

Hey TallCal I take real offense to you saying I have no politcal experience. I'll have you know I was Sentenial and Vice President of the Future Farmers of America in high school. Just kidding I'm not offended. I think you make some good points though.

My main problem with Hillary is the fact that we have some much dealings with the Middle East right now and I don't know if she could handle them, and that's nothing against her. I say that against the leaders in the Middle East. We all know how they veiw women. Do you think she would get any respect from them? I mean our current President really doesn't so maybe it doesn't matter.

Obama says he wants to make changes. That all well and good, but what changes has he made in his current position? Obama as President would be taking an assitant store manager at Wal-Mart with limited expereince and making him CEO of the whole company.

You are correct the Republicans don't have much going for them either. Personally I'm tired of being limited to just 2 parties. There is a problem with the system though. The system won't allow a third party candidate to have a chance. For instance, Ralph Nadar not being allowed to participate in the debates when he ran. He didn't have a chance, but he still should have been allowed to debate. He might not even been the man for the job, but eveidently there was a small portion of the country that beleived in him, and the majority didn't get to him speak because the debates are put on by a private company and it wasn't in their best intrest to allow him there. Talk about democracy in action.

Cal,

Whatever visual impairments I suffer from are apparently no worse than your own. You exaggerate the admitted shortcomings of Bush and minimize the obvious shortcomings of the others. I have no bag over my head nor do I have my head in the sand. I'm merely recognizing the shortcomings of the frontrunners which you apparently aren't able to do.

Tallcal, let's be frank about this, it is not a real democrat/republican issue and you know it. The failures of the administration should not to have the blame placed on one party, the Dems themselves are to blame just as much as the other side of the isle. They remained withdrawn during the times when they should have been getting the momentum up for 2008 and not started with the hate Bush at all cost rhetoric.

The difference is for me at least I see Hillary wanting to introduce fascism into American system and with Obama he will have to pay back the people who supported him from Jesse Jackson to Al Sharpton to a number of others because if he does not, he will be called t black enough.

On the repubs side, who is there? I hate to say that we can’t find anyone that really has the nerve to stand up and say to the repubs, your party is dying and here is how we can fix it.

As for health care, get the government out of it. Get a national Doctor licensing system and get rid of Pharma advertisements. Stop SS part D and tell the drug companies that if they want to have a patent for their drugs, they will accept the prices we give them.

Social security, put a clear stop date on it, allow people to invest for their future and CHANGE THE TAX SYSTEM.

The war based on lies, ok let’s first get rid of the UN and then the world court, revoke a lot of the treaties what force us to lie and then we can start restructuring our intelligence system to keep us informed and safe.

The economy can be fixed in less than three months. The house of representatives passes HR-25, the senate does the same, then they push through the repeal of the 16th amendment and just the ramp up to the repeal will push the economy forward – guaranteed.

Ah the idiots, there have been idiots in every administration, especially in Carter’s administration – that was chocked full of them and even today people fuss over these idiots. It is sad that they gave us our real problems today, from the department of education to the department of energy and the list goes on. We forget what happened in ’79, we forget the double digit inflation and the one of the highest tax increases ever.

The last part I think says it all and I have to agree, we should have unleashed the military 100% without the political correctness BS.
