Midwest Expediting

Trying to get info from veteran expediters about a company called "Midwest Expediting". I just read a recruiting advertisement about them and need more info. Can anyone shed some light on their operation for me? Pros and cons. Do they keep their owner/ops busy? Are they straight up with drivers or difficult? Any pay issues to be aware of? What kind of miles could a solo driver(VAN) expect? Any help is appreciated.

Hi Aristotle

We were with them in a Sprinter for about four months and the loads were pretty thin. We tried to take averything that came our way some of the loads were good, but they could never get us back out of where they sent us. We would end up deadheading 100's of miles to get our next load. Got stuck in Kansas for 8 days and ended up having to go back to St Louis, MO to get the next load. We put 3300 miles on the van in two weeks and 1700 was deadheading. If I were you I would think long and hard before signing up with them, they still owe us more than 3900.00 I doubt we will ever see it.

I know my opinion doesn't account for much but if they are talking they are lying.

Rigar, thanks for your input. But oh my gosh... $3900 is a huge amount to be owed or disputed. How did that come about? Did they just simply stop paying you or did this accumulate in increments over time? Were you a team operation or solo? Did they pay a fair fuel surcharge? No offense, but how is it possible for them to be $3900 in arrears to you? I am stunned.

Sounds like a good reason to be an OOIDA member.

They help folks to recover unpaid loads.

Deadheading a lot miles with Midwest?

That seems to be the norm for many carriers in today's marketplace. Deadhead miles are on the rise. That is something you need to consider having been gone from expediting.

Fuel prices? Due to some personal issues and putting the new truck on the road, I have only made about 50 runs since January 1st. and my fuel bill is already $5458.00.

Considering the cost of fuel......deadheading becomes a very issue!

Yep. All Types has reinvented themselves as Midwest Expediting. They seem to be the kings of not paying their drivers. I think you should run away as fast as you can.

One thing I notice about expediter companys is if they don't go to truck shows like mats, gats and EO show, you need to check them real good. I never saw Midwest or Alltypes at the truck shows or advertising on EO

Amazing what work ppl put into scamming others; when half the effort would create a legit company, and probably net them more money.

I would always have a concern regardless of industry when I see a company operating under a handful of names.
ATEX, Rush, Chase, Midwest Expediting, C.Chicago, Wholesale Expediting etc. They all have the same phone numbers or are one or two digits off.
Doesn't mean they are bad, but would require much more investigation as to whether they are a viable option.

i worked for them they dont have freight i averaged 4 days off after every load. was believe it or not that it wasn't necasary to
to restrain loads. i was approached by many drivers that seen my truck that said they will not pay you your last check.
and they were right the excuse they used was they never recieved the lettering off the truck in the mail
midwest is all-types they put both on your truck.
