What is a fault code of 6H 164 all about. Went out to start the truck this morning and was greeted with it.

Are you sure it is 6H rather than BH? That looks like a bulk head module code. Probably need more of the code to nail it down.
One other thing you can try also, if you have a mode/reset button on your dash display. When it is saying 164. Press and hold the mode/reset button till it changes to some more numbers. Write that number down and then you can just push and release button to cycle to the other code number. For example there will be 3 sets of numbers. It will start off like something like this. bh 164. Then spn 25838 and then fmi 1.
