I can not believe that if you say you believe in things like health care for the poor (which already exists) or global warming/climate change (which man can not control).
He stands for the same thing you do, 100%. He seems to be the Grand Pooh-Bah of the Democrats/Liberals.
I am thinking that your ideals are based on the Idealism of Power Worship and only that.
It is good that an imcumbent is out but it seems that you think that Franken is a smart guy, he is a true buffoon riding on a false sense of fame as a hack writer for a second rate TV show. For God's sake he had to pay stations to take his radio show because it sucked so bad, even internet DJs and talk show hosts have better following than they and that says a lot.
I think that the Democrats have resurected Father Counghlin and put him in charge of the Party and the followers.

He graduated in 1969 from The Blake School, where he was on the wrestling team. He attended Harvard College and graduated cum laude in 1973 with a bachelor of arts degree in political science.

What difference does it make? Just vote them out. They are NOT likely to be quality, but then niether is anyone we have now. IT is NOT about who or what party, Doug, it is ONLY about taking away their power and giving it back to ourselves, where it belongs.

Since he was called a buffoon, I thought it would be good to check his education. Rather than make up "facts" like many on here seem to enjoy, I pasted his educational background. Oh yeah, I did think before I did it.
AND? What does his education prove? A degree does NOT equate to intelligence. What REAL life experience does he have in the matters to which he has to attend? Writing for Hollywood is NOT real life. Does he have any? What differnece should it make to you, or me for that matter, he is the Senator from MN NOT Michigan.

Yeah I judge candidates on alot of issues party being just one. The fact that they decide to allign themselves with the GOP is a strike against them. Since the GOP stands against nearly every belief I have, I would have a hard time casting votes for them.
The GOP protects the wealthy and panders to the the christian groups who wish to shove their beliefs down everyones throats. Since I am not wealthy or a christian the GOP is worthless to me and I hope it continues to self destruct.
I could easily vote for a viable independent candidate or a democrat, my last R vote was HW Bush and I don't see another in the near future.

Just because he is a Senator from MN it does not mean that he does not represent us. The collective Senate and House represent all Americans not just their home state. They have to answer to their home states voters but they represent us all.
WOW, a straight answer!! I like it. I doubt that you can PROVE that the GOP panders to the wealthy, since the other side TENDS to have more RICH candidates. Your so called side tends to shove THEIR beliefs down MY throat. That is ALWAYS in the eye of the beholder.
What do you belive in that the Dumb-O-Crats preach? Higher taxes? Less choice? Government controlled medical care? Do you enjoy the regulations you have to put up with in this industry? Want MORE? What about higher fuel taxes, like that? Explain what it is you like.
By the way, what my plan does is take away the power of the big corporations, unions and special interest groups. ALL of the candidates from the two major parties are TOTAL hacks for these groups. Can you not see that? You must realize that you are being played.
ALignment with a party is how they control you. They have you beat. They play on your emotions, plant fear and for the part what they put out are at best, half truths, but most likely lies. IE: global warming, read more on your own. You shoud NEVER believe what a politition says. You trust the Dumb-O-Crats, I trust neither party. I am NOT a "Party Hack" I will Chose my own destiny. You chose to be cared for. YOUR choice, DO NOT force it on me. The higher taxes, socialised medicine will be FORCED on me. Do like that idea? You don't like it when it happens to you. Yea, anyone can write for SNL, the show is not that funny anymore, it didn't mature with the audience.
Yea anyone can star in their own movie. Maybe you never been to that fantasy land called Hollywood but all you need is a good imagination, a good camera and a good PC editing program and you may have the next blockbuster movie.
Yea... his radio show with his negative "paid for" ratings. Most of the Air America crowd sits right smack into that area of poor to no ratings so they had to pay the stations to air the shows. I know an owner of one of them stations who actually made good money on Air America but could not sell any spots except Democratic campaign spots.
Anyone can be a senator, look at Stabanow, she is a worthless person but I bet you voted for her. Levin is another, and I can keep going but I know you will never get the point.
But it really seems you and other liberals call George W Bush a buffoon too but..... he went to a prep school too (The Kinkaid School) and then onto Phillips (I don't know if you know what that is) for his formal upper school years but he is according to many like you just a buffoon. Yet the amazing things is he finished at Yale with a history degree, learned how to fly a F102 (which I don't think Franken knows which end goes forward) and then on to Harvard for a Masters in Business Administration - not a easy ride.
However he wasn't on a wrestling team (which by the way is barbaric by liberal standards) and he didn't get a Bachelors of ARTS degree in political science which seems not to be hard and never took the easy "I know more than you because I write for SNL" that Franken has been using but he became one of the 47 people who have been governor of the largest state beside Alaska and one of the 44 people who became president of the country which is not as easy as becoming the one of 100 people who hold a senate seat.
I guess staring in your own movie, writing for a second class show, having a poor rated radio show that lost it's synidcation and becoming senator is so much more than president.....
But Bush is still a buffoon by your standards, so people what's wrong with this picture that Doug is painting?
It is typical of party hacks. They just tow the line and spout what they are told to spout. I seldom see original thougt from hacks from either party. That is why we are in the mess we are in. DRONES can vote.

The difference between Franken and W is easy to see but you need to take your head out of the sand.
Franken has done nothing to be called a buffoon, W on the other hand bankrupted nearly everything he ever touched with his masterpiece being the good ole U S of A.
