I am on my 6th one in 7 or 8 years. The new one is a Toshiba that was
$610. at Wal Mart online, 2 weeks ago. I have been using DeLorme Street Atlas for 6 years. I have the other map programs but alway go back to Delorme because I can work the program faster than the others.
I also use Drivers Daily Log computer program. It is $70. and it is accepted by FECC. I got caught for only 1 minor log violation in 6 months. It is at driversdailylog.com To use it you need a printer to prove to the dot if they ask you. It is very easy to change entries and it does all the math. It will let you know about log violations.

Darkunicorn... we used to call them Trash-80s. OMG what a one-dimensional machine! I could program it to make happy faces tho. 
Also, I have your Panasonic 17". Was yours Seahawk blue? If so, that's why it didn't work for you. You have to be a fan! LOL I took mine in cause the truck bounced it around while plugged in, and the power port broke. There are a couple minor issues I have with it, but otherwise I love it.
