Please read all the way to the end!

After having dug to a depth of 10 feet last year outside of Buffalo, New York scientists found traces of copper cable dating back 120 years. They came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 100 years ago.

Not to be outdone by the New Yorkers, in the weeks that followed, a Los Angeles, California archaeologist dug to a depth of 20 feet somewhere just outside Oceanside. Shortly after, a story in the LA Times read, "California archaeologists, reporting a finding of 200 year old copper cable, have concluded that their ancestors already had an advanced high-tech communications network a hundred years earlier than the New Yorkers.

One week later, a local newspaper in Pierre, South Dakota reported the following: "After digging down about 30 feet deep in his pasture near the community of Pukwana, Ole Olson, a hell of an engineer and a self-taught archaeologist, reported that he found absolutely nothing. Ole has therefore concluded that 300 years ago, South Dakota had already gone wireless."

Just makes a person proud to be from South Dakota!

Do you know Don?

I signed a petition today that two women had at Walmart.
While filling it out, the one women asked what city I live in.
The 2nd women upon hearing my answer chimed in.
"Oh, I know a guy who lives in Port Huron...Do you know Don?".

Her question totally blew my concentration on filling out the form as I tried to process her question and not laugh.

"Don?" I asked.

"Yes, Don", she said enthusiastically.

After, pausing to think is she really asking me this. I replied, "No, I don't think I know Don".

Now Port Huron is no Metropolis, but at about 30,000 people, hardly a small town, at least not small enough to single out "Don" lol.

Reminded me of a show or movie I saw where a guy tells another guy that he's not interested in getting set up with a certain female because he is gay. The response to this news was something like, 'oh, I know a guy who is gay, he lives in xyz city, do you know him?'.

Kept location on the down low for a couple weeks, but in a nutshell: PA to Albany, NY area; Albany to ATL; weekend in roasty toasty Jackson; ATL to Emmetsburg, IA; Minneapolis area to Fuquay Varina NC. The last two were 2600 miles in three days, so for the first time since February we took a room. Hopefully tomorrow will bring us a nice weekender

Congrats mud. There is something deeply satisfying about a hotel room when you feel you've earned it.

I'm guessing there are still quite a few guys taking their 30 break parked at the fuel pumps.... Pulled into a Pilot today with 14 lanes, all full.....app says 12 of those lanes were "ready". I have a bit of sympathy for them, could easily use up the whole 30 trying to find a real parking spot.
