IL closes many Roads and I80

stuck in Southern Indiana. Salt trucks are very thin and not doing a good job. Roads very icy. Got a delivery tonight in Ky. But im not going anywhere. Almost put this van into a wall on a bridge and coming down a hill sliding all over the place.

I355 and I80 and I 88..in the Batavia area are good out here...snow stopped hours ago....system is moving out....

My Dad said it has been snowing at his house most of the day. He lives about 20 miles south of Detroit.

started truck today des moines. the cold affected the batteries. it started but acted like it low on juice. it took a little bit of driving before brakes started to work fully

It got slikkery on 270 and 70 going west in Missoury a little while ago also.6 miles away frommy drop in the AM.16 degrees awile ago..I need Laredo right now!!

I just went to the walmart in East Peoria for some snacks LOL I 74 was driveable but slick the worst part is the temps are gonna go 0 and down the next few days that will turn the salted roads slicker. but heck I am still gonna try to put myself back in service tuesday.

Tell you all one thing rt29 / Adams st here in Peoria is a sheet of ice real slick my house/ warehouse is on adams and man they did a terrible job cleaning up.

just a reminder to use alcohol in the airlines if it's gets below 10.
yes ,i know , can be tricky in a St. truck.

BTW ,how DO you get the alcohol into the airlines in a St. Truck ?

and if anyone drive a Tractor ,donot apply the trailer brakes .

was windy all the way from armadillo today ,cold and dry.
now at the Pilot I-44x168 ,for the night .
dry & 18,on my way to the windy city .

Maybe it will get cold enough for the ice to get "sticky". Ice is more slippery as it gets closer to +32F. When it gets down to -10F it gets very sticky and traction is MUCH better. I noticed today as the temps got lower the ice was much easier to walk on.

Northern Kentucky I-75 and I-275 is slow due to snow and icing conditions. Be safe 12/12/2010.
