Broom, from reading on another thread you sound like you are going through a tough time with something. You might want to take some time off of the road and relax a little bit, I see some combat fatigue setting in. Mudflap

Me thinks he's a little miffed cause the thread was taken off topic. I've only read a couple that actually answered the original question.

Perhaps anyone who hasn't yet formed an opinion on gambling should review the Flintstones episode from many years ago in which Fred deals with his gambling addiction. it's very moving...

I'm not sure exactly what the question was? The topic was gambling, it is a sensitive non-trucking topic, and one folks just have to agree to disagree on as far as opinions towards it. If I could outlaw everything I wanted to outlaw or anyone else could, we would eventually be outlawed from doing anything, which is seemingly what the world is coming to. Mudflap

Now I'm not sure what the original question was - I thought it was along the lines of "Should we bail out those poor people who've gambled all their money away?" or "Should the casinos be banned, for doing what they do too well?"
We all have to make a personal choice when approached with a plea for help by an individual, and the casinos are pretty upfront about what they're selling, so the question is: should the government and church be in the business of promoting gambling? Which is probably a topic for the Soapbox, but that's not where the question was. Those of us who responded, did so because we thought about it, and that's a good thing, IMO.
Of course, I could have it all wrong - it's pretty early in the morning, for me. ;)
