with all the respect to the OP, this is not what the talking head was saying .
while TRYING to make a point about "Ron Paul explaining the real reasons of Middle-eastern hatred toward the United States" - which is flat out wrong !
the former CIA guy take a fall at the 'solution' presented by R.P
- which IS a good debate for our country.
So I'm a bit confused, What I hear from RP and like this guy is the same reasoning that I hear from Muslims.
They all are not saying the support of Israel is the cause for the hatred -that's an excuse- but our actions in the middle east are the cause.
Many seem to cite not the Palistinian issue but the Saudi issue as one that has caused us problems, that is supporting the Sauds with their oppressive government and other country's governments who have been a problem for the people. As the talking head mentioned, Hillary and Obama, among many many in our country have this preconceived notion that if we give them "arabs" a better way of life, they will soften their devotion to their religion and look at things differently.
I heard a number of times that our idea of democracy is not the idea of the rest of the world's and it comes to the brass tacks that our government is trying to push on those who want to evolve our form of government.
With Libya, I don't see the reasoning what we did outside of helping the EU gain a foot hold over the Russians and Chinese for oil and gas - which for those who don't know about that issue, do some research because it is interesting to see we don't go to war for oil as our detractors say which are the same ones who go to war for oil, Germany, France, Italy.
We went way way beyond the UN mandate to protect the people for humanitarian reasons and maybe the people here need to take a civics lesson on how we should be fighting wars.
