ok WHAT. Im alittle slow at times but what did he say(iceroad) i think you been out in the cold to long, please explain your posting, no disrespect intented, just wanting to reply to your post but dont no where to start

I got it. He is telling fedx that they can kiss his butt when it
gets winter and they want him to haul in the snow etc..
for not giving him any loads now.. is that right iceroadtrucker?

I went in the ditch two times last year. I'm not even sure how it happened; it just happened. Hitting the ditch at 70 miles per hour has really done a number on me psychologically and I am afraid I am going to have to agree with iceroadtrucker on this one. I have been sitting here "at home" for 5 weeks now after being out on the road for almost 16 months straight. So, now that I have enjoyed 5 weeks of solitude, sleeping in warm bed, home cooked meals, daily showers "yes that is "s" for plural meaning more than one shower a day" I now am getting ready to go to work for a pharmaceutical delivery company here in, Orange County. I'm simply going to work double shifts, save as much monsy as I can, and bide my time until the nasty winter season is over. Last year I spend almost three thousand dollars in idling alone and I did not run very much from the middle of November all the way to the middle of march. In my opinion, running during the winter months is a waste of time for a B-unit driver. I spend most of the time sitting in the van trying to keep myself alive in sub-zero temperatures while eating, drinking, and wasting my life away watching the little snow flakes fall onto my windshield. It was brutal for me last winter; all I had was the heater in my van, and when it was below zero, keeping the truck running with the heater on full blast merely made the temperature inside my van physically bearable; not cosy-fireplace-warm! So, I am going to punk out this winter time and opt for the projected (65 degree) winter temperatures of the great state of "California" this year. But to all of those who decide to play ice road trucker, I wish you a safe and productive winter season.

Geez, an Espar heater costs $1500, or for the big one, $2000, installed, and uses about a gallon of fuel every 12-15 hours. It pays for itself the first year, and after that instead of putting all that money into idling, it goes into your pocket.

In any case, it can get cold in the OC at night. I got cold the other night in beautiful downtown Anaheim. OK, it wasn't beautiful, and it wasn't downtown. But it was cold. Cold enough to fire up the Espar on low.
