Ford van cruise

Went to the Ford dealer to have cruise installed on an '03 Ford E-350 with a 7.3 diesel. I was told add on cruise was still available for the gas modesl but was no longer available for diesels. Only thing I found on line was a universal model that fit everything. That did not sound like something for long term usability. This may be related to the current recall of 4.5 million cruise units, don't know.
Anyone know of a good cruise tech or shop in the Midwest or mid-south?

I am thinking that the Ford van Cruise system is the same as the F series with the 7.3 and that is a fly by wire which means the ECM controls it.

If it is like the 6.5 GMC, then there is no cable to the accelerator pedal and that means that you can either install or have someone install cruise by wiring it up to the ECM. I think that it is also the same where the cruise and PTO (Auxiliary Idle Controller) speed control is on the same switches which means there are a lot of info on how to install it on any late model 7.3.
