I get whiplash sometimes trying to have a conversation with you. We're talking about one thing, and I suppose because you don't like where the conversation is headed, from out of nowhere and totally out of context you start talking about marxists and where our rights come from and anything else that pops into your mind. It's probably that I lack the mental horsepower to keep up.
I contend, that Marxism, is ultra-conservative, in the historical sense of the United States. The "liberals" that formed, and fought, to bring this Nation forth believed the OPPOSITE of Marxism, dictatorships, kings, and all other forms of what was the norm then, and now. They believed in FREEDOM. NOTHING the Marxist/socialist believe in promotes or enhances freedom. It removes freedom and replaces it with control. The LIBERAL idea of freedom is what I believe in.
I believe that the government does NOT grant rights, and that they do not have the right to remove nor restrict those rights. No where in the Constitution, the law of the land, does it say the government has that power.
I guess I am not understanding where it was headed. I guess it's that we believe in totally different things. I like freedom, you prefer government control. Makes it hard to converse.
Obama represents EVERYTHING that I fought against for 20 years. His ideas are the ideas of my sworn enemy.
I won't give up my freedom, and I WILL fight if I need to. Nothing will change that. No idea will change that.
