expediter from a truckers point of view

hey, I am a company drive for a regional company in the NE. I drive trackers get paid... good. I am fed up with all the gov. regs and all ways looking over my shoulder. I think I would like to drive a sprint van and leave all or most of that behind me. Can I realistically do pretty good in the expedited world? OTR is not a problem. I don't expect to get rich but make a living. What would be a average take home if I hustle, say in a year.
