Economic Crisis: Brzezinski warns of riots in US

Economic Crisis: Brzezinski warns of riots in US
Zbigniew Brzezinski, a former national security advisor, has warned that the US could witness riots if economy continues its downward spiral.

"There's going to be growing conflict between the classes and if people are unemployed and really hurting, hell, there could be even riots!" said Brzezinski, President Jimmy Carter's national security advisor, in a recent interview with NBC.

"In 1907, when we had a massive banking crisis, when banks were beginning to collapse, there were going to be riots in the streets," he added.

At least 3.6 million jobs have been wiped out throughout the US since the recession began in December 2007. The jobless rate officially reached a 16-year high of 7.6% (11.6 million people) last month.

Earlier this week, a new Federal Reserve report said that US unemployment could increase to 8.8%, causing the economy to contract for a full calendar year for the first time since 1991, when a contraction of 0.2% was registered.

The Obama White House has put forward an array of measures, including a $787 billion stimulus package, in the hopes of reviving the flagging economy.

Brzezinski, meanwhile, made some recommendations to the young administration.

He proposed the creation of a voluntary national solidarity fund, whose contributors would be those who became wealthy in recent times.

"Where is the moneyed class today? Why aren't they doing something: the people who made billions, millions. I'm sort of thinking of Paulson, of Rubin [former treasury secretaries]. Why don't they get together, and why don't they organize a national solidarity fund in which they call on all of those who made these extraordinary amounts of money to kick some back?" he argued.

"I was worrying about it because we're going to have millions and millions of unemployed, people really facing dire straits. And we're going to be having that for some period of time before things hopefully improve," said Brzezinski.

Oh and if you are thinking of a close quarter self defense weapon, the judge looks like a good piece, check it out here:

Handguns that are chambered for both a standard pistol round and either a shotgun or rifle round are highly illegal in several states.

Which state are those? I need to know. Smuggling in those guns into those states would be a great side business. LOL. I was not aware of any state with those illegal restrictions. Layoutshoooter

Guns chamberd for multiple calibers have been available and are legal in all states that allow the sale of guns.....I know you said hand guns, but I have had and more then a few americans have owned "over/under" long guns for longer then i have been alive.

And the idea of a 45/410 hand gun isn't even new, they have been available legally for years also. tauras is just captializing on a growing market, nothing more.

And as Layout, I'd also like to have that list of states, i have no problem with selling Face to face!!!!

I think ZB is stretching things a bit. He, having served in the Carter administration, should know how the general public reacts to bad economic times. Jimmy Carter gave us double-digit inflation, unemployment and interest rates. Things were quite a bit worse then compared to currrent conditions. However, if Barack Hussein Obama continues to have his way we could very easily reach or even surpass the Carter misery index. But I still don't think there will be riots in the streets unless certain segments of the population get upset when they finally realize that BHO isn't going to pay their mortgages, car payments, grocery bills, etc. We're nowhere near this doomsday scenario, and it's rather irresponsible of him to be suggesting it.

On another subject, consider his absurd idea of getting even with wealthy executives by suggesting they surrender what he considers to be excessive earnings and redistributing it from a "solidarity fund" to the proletariat. Where have we heard that before? "From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs" - maybe Karl Marx? Evidently, ZB hasn't considered the income taxes these guys have paid that are already going to be spread around under Obama's plan. If this unjustified compensation should go anywhere, it should go back to corporate shareholders - not the government.

Lastly, the Taurus Judge looks like a dandy firearm - well worth checking out.

The idea that the government will be creating cirme by prohibitting the sale of some or all firearms is lost on these idiots. Those prohibitions will create black markets and all the other crimes that go with it. They just cannot learn from history. It happened when booze was outlawed and now with the illegal drugs. People will always just do what they want too. If you strictly enforce the REAL laws, like robbery, murder etc, insted of excusing them crime would go way down. Making criminals out of law abiding citizens will never lower crime. How stupid can people be? Layoutshooter

Him Interesting, we shall see. Will America rise up and have a Revolution from with in. Like that which has been said for so long. Throw the Politicians out and start over.

Or

Will we get split up the middle by a million Commies and a war be fought on American Soil.

There are those that blame the US for the Worlds Economic Crisis.
Example: The World bank wants 8 Billion outta the Stimulus.
they don't deserve one cent.

I think they brought it on them selves trying to buy America up and get their piece of the American Pie so to speak.

Oh well, to bad so sad puppies can't have kittens.
