How much of a hassle is it to change differential gear on a Chevy van?

Who sells the parts? (It was posted here once, but can not find it)

don't try it yourself unless you know how to set it up. it isn't just a matter of changing out the ring and pinion...there are critical adjustments that most be set. then once that is done, depending on year and make, you may have to have the enine management computer reset or "flashed" for the change in gear ratio......

if you can't do it yourself. it ain't cheap to do.....

as far as the needed parts, most any dearler or good parts house can get them.....

It would be a far better thing to do to go to a junkyard and get a rear axle off of the same vehicle than to try to chance R&P. The cost for the change to a new ration with the old axle may be a lot than the hassle of swapping axles.

Beside to actually do a good job the axle has to be pulled out and setup on a bench - you want a profession job done right.

I would only get GM OEM parts. I would not get Richmond Gear or any thing else.
