Dick Cheney talks freely about Iraq

I gave him the briefing he needed. It was correct, well thought out and to the point. He complimented me on it and stated that those who put me in that position really knew what they were doing. That it was clear that I had the backround, training and level head to handle the job.

Oh, so he's a kiss a-ss too!

Had a zillion night mares and was very happy that Mrs. Layoutshooter was not in bed. Normally when I had "Those" kinds of nightmares I would wake up punching her. Sure glad those days are over. Layoutshooter

Um, I don't know if I would share that with a lot of people....

I would have hate to have lived your life. The ability to acknowlege the work of subordinates, which he taught me in that one phone call, has served me well in all of my management life. There are no unimportant employees. If any one job is not done the entire plant suffers. The same goes for people. Recognizing the work of those who worked for me in different places has improved thier lives, mine and the job we were all trying to do. If that is "Kissing Butt" to you I hate to see the examples you have had. I STILL have, now young men, who were kids when the work for me call me to just talk. They tell me about thier grades, the fish they caught, thier trials and tribulations. Mr. Cheney taught me well. Layoutshooter

I wonder what could have happened between 1994 and the date we decided to deal with Iraq? Did the United Stated Congress vote in favor of military action against them? Did every major presidential candidate in addition to Slick Willie state that they believed Saddam had WMDs and agree with the action? Some people seem to think that the US went into this war alone, and this was not the case. The main thing about Cheney that turns most people off is that he has a no-nonsense attitude and doesn't suffer fools easily like most politicians. Here's a news flash - we haven't lost this war. We've won it! Mop-up operations are in progress and we are turning it over to the new Iraqi regime and their military. Granted, American lives were lost and one life is one too many. But to talk like the Iraq war was similar to Viet Nam is sheer foolishness. The wisdom of having Saddam gone and having Iraq as an ally in that part of the country will become evident the moment that Iran gets actively belligerant - and I, for one, am afraid that day will soon be upon us and our fearless leader - Barack Hussein Obama.
I find myself in complete agreement with Pilgrim's assessment. Dick Cheney is a serious man. I always slept better knowing Cheney was on watch.
