Earlier in the week I was at a truck stop when a Peterbilt long nose pulling a Flat bed parked. Later when he came out it wouldn't start. I went over and asked if I could help. He said no it will start when it cools off. Now. While standing there I noticed the left front steer tire had "scallops" which seemed to be intentionally cut into the outside edge of the tire about four inches apart all the way around the tire. They were outside the farthest outside groove, but still on the edge of the tire face that would contact the road. What is the reasoning for it?.

He needs shocks and an alignment. It is called cupping and I have the same issue to deal with thanks to the FL dealer.

Thank you. I thought it was probably alignment related, but thought it would be tough on the driver. I would think the vibration in a class 8 would be considerable.

The vibration is not always an issue, sometimes you can't feel it in a truck, but the shocks have a lot to do with it.
