Conway Truckload

This really has nothing to do with me, but I'm just curious.

It seemed that tractor drivers for Conway Now were offered Conway Truckload runs, also. And, I think, vice versa.

Has this been affected by the buyout?

Last I heard Conway retained some of their tractors and they are doing LTL since they sold off the expedite. The rest went to Panther.

Any LTL they do is linhaul. Terminal to terminal. I think most T/T that stayed are doing this or truckload. They also have company equipment doing the same thing.

I thought I read somewhere that CONWAY was looking at getting back into truck load. I had assumed they saw more future in truck load than expedite thus one reason they sold off to PII.

In answer to this thread, Seeing s how I just kind of retired from Con-Way Expedite and Brokerage. As a recruiter, I will answer that question.

All of the tractors were retained, if they wanted, to run brokerage freight, they will not be running any line haul as that is the responsibility of Con-Way Freight and Truckload. The NOW tractors will be running the dedicated and full load freight that they always had.

Any that went to P2 were of thier own volition.

Thanks for the clarification as I have heard about three versions of what was going on with that part. There was some tractors getting redecaled last week at Seville, but I am not sure how many.

I knew some were going over, the ones that didn't want to run for the $$ Con-Way was offering. Some prefer to run for the expedited $$ and not the sure thing lower rate. Their choice, hope all goes well for everyone.

Thanks for fielding the truckload question. I thought some of company owned truckload trucks were pulling LTL terminal to terminal. At least that's what my buddies at CCX tell me. They are all drivers and the rumor mill really gets cranked up over the c.b.

Sure, Con-Way Truckload is pulling LTL, thought you were talking the Now tractors only, Truckload and Brokerage are two different companies.
