Company For Newbies CV

Are there any companies that hire CV o/o that don't have a CDL. I worked breifly as an IC for a VERY small company, but with only 2 runs in 3 months, it wasn't worth sticking with. Looking for any leads. I prefer to work over the road, not locally. Any direction is appreciated. Thank You

Load 1 will be taking cargo vans again when they lose a few guys. Every company loses contractors due to various reasons. Bolt has had hiring freezes before. I had to wait a while to get on with them. But chances are most companies will be hiring again once things pick back up. Every company has turnover! It's the nature of the beast.

I was talking to a panther driver a few weeks ago who was going to end his panther contract and goto another company and he said he had called bolt and they told him no cv when he called. I have no clue honestly. Just going with what I heard from someone.

Just made a call, Bolt would rather you have a srw cube or sprinter but will take CV's as long a you don't live in SE Mich or NW Ohio but other then that no problem... BUT...they do have over 90 but less then 100 CV'c, Sprinters, and cubes....

As for Load 1 losing drivers...yeap it happens, as has been said "not every carrier is a match for everyone"...I know of 3-4 that have come and gone since I have been there...

Toledo is where Bolt is located and they have a too many units in those areas in that when people go home they stack up and play H*ll getting out....Wen I was there and went home, 99% of the time I would DH to Chicago to get loaded because of all the units in the area...Can't say if the restriction is typical of other carriers but Bolt has done it before...Iam sure it isn't a forever thing...

Why the restriction on where you live? Is that typical?

Ya see Scott..some drivers are what we call home boys.....They tend to gravitate around home base or have a habit of DHing back toward home all too often.....This is not a favourable scenerio..especially for the driver...They are doing people a favour by not loading up in one area of coverage...

Not really babies...it is just having too many semi-retired, part timers...that like their home time, where this job is only a secondary source of income...

May history is that I stay out in the 20-21 days at a time area...that being said with since I have been with Load 1, and with their yard being 45 mile from my drive way, i haveen home at least 2 weekends a month .....you want to tell me that you can't go home and make money or that i am doing this wrong....:)

But then again I am a "vacation expediter"....:D
