Bush/Cheney to blame for gulf oil spill

The Cheney administration is clearly at fault for dropping safeguard shutoff requirements.

Gulf spill: Is the Bush administration to blame? - The Week

from the link above:
The Bush White House, with vice president Dick Cheney leading the charge, pandered to the oil industry from Day 1. Cheney filled the staff of the Minerals Management Service with "oil industry toadies." As a result, Bush's 2005 energy bill, following a Minerals Management Service recommendation, dropped a requirement that oil companies fit every deepwater oil well with a $500,000 "acoustical regulator" — an automatic shut-off switch that could have prevented the BP spill.

Purely criminal behavior.

You seem to be echoing the Obama administration's recent motto. Instead of Hope and Change, which hasn't worked out so well, it is now "BLAME BUSH!"

Rhodes is just a classic "Political Issue" pusher who has strong beliefs and support for the Democratic party, that's all.

Probably a left-over minion who's popularity was at his highest during the months after Algore tried to steal the election from Bush. It was during this time that I closed all the "Discussion Boards" I owned and walked away from the others I just "Adminned". The vile and vitrial postings that the Internet Liberals brought forth on these boards made life on these boards seem like it wasn't even worthlng dealing with anymore.

I just glanced over his 55 posts. Yes, he is a throwback from the Bush/Algore era. Over half of his posts are in the political arena, and show very high opinions towards Obawa.

One thing I did notice though was this one quote he said here:

So how many here are willing to make a stand and say NO to these? I for one will never drive with a qualcom, prepass or a paperless log. Not because I cheat but because I am a free man. I was born free (no movie jokes-well ok as long as they are good ones) and I will die free.

Now, let's take this one statement from Rhodes that is related to the Expediting Industry and put it towards his life in general.

How do you think this "......but because I am a free man. I was born free... ...and I will die free" belief you have in the expediting industry is going to effect your "freedom" when Obawa is going to force you to buy Health Insurance or force you to pay a fine if you do not?

Just a "Life In General" in question, that's all. You can answer it if you want, you can spin it all you want(of which I predict you will try), but we will see right through your answer if you do not agree that the Health Care Reform Obawa brought forth has taken away a certain "freedom" Americans had.

Take your best shot. I'm not even going to debate this whatsoever, it wouldn't be worth it. I said what I had to say.

This lame mantra from the OBorat administration of blaming Bush/Chaney for everything from floods, pestilence and other natural disasters to oil rig accidents and economic problems is getting to be laughable. Most of the general public and politicians alike know absolutely nothing about the oil industry, especially deep sea offshore drilling. Right now there are over 4000 offshore rigs in the Gulf of Mexico - how many serious accidents that involved major spills occured last year? How about over the last 10 years? This author says that Bush/Cheney filled the Minerals Management Service with "oil industry toadies"; typical liberal mocking and ridicule containing not a shred of intelligent thought. Maybe they would have been better off filling these positions with history professors or bureaucrats from the IRS and others who know absolutely nothing about the oil industry. Imagine putting people in positions related to their field of expertise - what a concept!!

Take a look at the top right corner of this screen - diesel is at $3.12/gal and gas is at $2.90. Has anyone seen or heard a single syllable from the MSM about OBorat sucking up to the oil barons? Any articles about the excessive profits of the oil companies so far under the OBorat administration? By the way - OBorat has received more money in campaign donations from BP than any other politician in the last 20 years (source: Center for Responsive Politics).

This oil rig accident happened on OBorat's watch - that means it's HIS fault. That reasoning was generally accepted during Bush's presidency, so it must be equally applicable now.
