U.S. blocks N.C. city's nonpartisan vote

By Ben Conery

KINSTON, N.C. | Voters in this small city decided overwhelmingly last year to do away with the party affiliation of candidates in local elections, but the Obama administration recently overruled the electorate and decided that equal rights for black voters cannot be achieved without the Democratic Party.

The Justice Department's ruling, which affects races for City Council and mayor, went so far as to say partisan elections are needed so that black voters can elect their "candidates of choice" - identified by the department as those who are Democrats and almost exclusively black.

The department ruled that white voters in Kinston will vote for blacks only if they are Democrats and that therefore the city cannot get rid of party affiliations for local elections because that would violate black voters' right to elect the candidates they want.

This is only a small art of the article that is 4 pages long, you can read the rest at this link:

From the article:

The department ruled that white voters in Kinston will vote for blacks only if they are Democrats and that therefore the city cannot get rid of party affiliations for local elections because that would violate black voters' right to elect the candidates they want...

Kinston is one of the areas subject to provisions of the landmark 1965 Voting Rights Act, which requires the city to receive Justice Department approval before making any changes to voting procedures. Kinston is one of 12,000 voting districts in areas of 16 states, almost exclusively in the South, that the Voting Rights Act declared to have had a history of racial discrimination...

Proponents, including Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr., said the law is still necessary to ensure equal voting rights for all Americans.

I heard this story on the radio yesterday and couldn't help but think what the outrage would be if the Bush administration had forced this ruling onto a small, mostly white community in Eastern KY. However, reading further into the article one will find the 2d paragraph above listing 34 year-old legislation as the basis for trampling the will of Kinston's population. It's too bad the Kinston city council doesn't have the wherewithal to challenge this in court. I also can't help but wonder where the ACLU is on this matter. Of course this is just a ploy to make sure the majority black population in Kinston knows who the Democrats are and who they're supposed to vote for in spite of the fact that most of them are too lazy and apathetic to show up at the polls and vote at all.

The really bothersome thing about this story is that it's just part of a pattern developing from the Barack Hussein Obama administration which seems to show them slowly creeping toward a dictatorial style of governing. Taking over the banks, major auto manufacturers, the home mortgage process, student loans, an attempted takeover of the health care system, attempting to silence a major news organization that is critical of their policies and creating an enemies list of conservative commentators and lobbying groups. All this is not quite Hitleresque yet, but Hugo Chavez must be flattered that his governing style is being copied by the world's most powerful leader.

Actually I am starting to feel sorry for my fellow minority citizens, they seem not to want to better themselves and demand that this cr*p stops.

Once upon a time a bunch of progressive thinking people came up with the reasoning that the "minority" (put any name in the space) was incapable of doing things on their own. This led to encroachment into the general population but really was focused on the "minority" (put any name in the space). Back in the great depression under the great leader that was called FDR, he was apolitician and knew that the "minority" (put any name in the space) would vote for anyone who promised them something or punish the people who made more, had more and lived better. It was brainwashing at its best. But there was FDR's other half who wanted to help the "minority" (put any name in the space) by actually giving them a step up on the American food chain, but FDR and the Democrats didn't want anything to do with her idea of actually helping them be independent. When WW2 came about, the "minority" (put any name in the space) wanted to fight, most of the soldiers didn't give a cr*p who was fighting next to them as long as it wasn't the enemy but the great leader FDR ignored the need for man power in combat and held firm that the "minority" (put any name in the space) would have to do the in the rear work. His other half proved him wrong and some of the "minority" (put any name in the space) went on to defend our country without any hint of the idea that they would run or incapable of following orders.

When Johnson, the great liberator of the poor came up with the idea to help the poor by creating the great society, he doomed the "minority" (put any name in the space) to live as second class citizens with laws that forced "minority" (put any name in the space) to be equal which made them think that they were inferior to begin with. The civil rights laws, the voting rights laws, the everyone hates the "minority" (put any name in the space) so we have to stop them laws were not created by people of the "minority" (put any name in the space) but rather elitist who would rather keep "those people" in control and suppressed then to have them as equals.

Nowadays no one remembers what the democrats have done, or what they stand for even with todays actions. Everyone thinks the republican, the conservitive and the christian right are the people of oppression and slavery but it isn't that way at all. The democrats have enslaved more people than what we had when slavery was legal.
