Naturally occurring bacteria used to convert biomass into hydrocarbons.

A Georgia company looking to solve America's energy problem has finally teamed up with the federal government, hoping to make millions of barrels of oil every day from virtually anything that grows out of the Earth.

Bell Bio-Energy, Inc. says it has reached an agreement with the U.S. Defense Department to build seven test production plants, mostly on military bases, to quickly turn naturally grown material into fuel.

"What this means is that with the seven pilot plants – the military likes to refer to them as demonstrations – with those being built … it gives us the real-time engineering data that we need to finish the designs for a full-scale production facility," J.C. Bell, the man behind the project, told WND today.

Ah, try February 8, 1982... maybe?

Standard Oil had a program going with some scientist or researchers at MIT and some school out west. They found a couple things that could eat material and return an oil like substance. The project was shelved in the late 80's, who needed to have oil coming form bacteria when we have $18/barrel oil?

In addition here are a couple other things;

there is a group trying to get the attention of anyone who want to invest into their discovery, so far ALGORE and most of the global warming people have ignored it. The invention, legit one at that, takes co2 and converts it to o2 - just like a tree.

Then there is the guy who came up with a way to use solar power to create H2, enough to power a car for a day from your roof. Not only is this one also legit, it also is ignored by the greenies.

Greg, you are right, there are more then a few "ideas" hat have been proven to work that TPTB don't want to "mess" with for one reason or another, the biggest being "controling the masses", that just don't see the light of day.

Tes "gasafacation" of coal has been around since WW2 when germany used it for the war machine, not to great success, but they did prove it was a viable alternative, just expensive. Japan has done it for years also. But when oil was cheap, we here in the US, did do it because of the expense, now a few states are looking at it a bit more, but the governement is just "poop pooping" it!

So hell, who knows what will ever become of this, lol as we all know it is a "politicial" football!!

Well I am ****ed off, the military can get coal to fuel plants built but we can't drill?
