Bill Maher Afraid Mohammeds, Islam Taking Over Western World

Those who accuse the once libertarian Bill Maher of becoming too much of a liberal apologist might want to clean their ears. Maher made a Juan Williams-esque confession on his program when he apprehensively noted that Mohammed has just become the most popular baby name in Britain. “Am I a racist to feel alarmed by that?” Maher asked his panel. “Because I am. And it’s not because of the race, it’s because of the religion. I don’t have to apologize, do I, for not wanting the Western world to be taken over by Islam in 300 years?”

His normally boisterous crowd fell silent as the panel responded to Maher’s admission.

“If you’re with NPR,” the conservative Margaret Hoover chimed, “You’d be fired.”

“It’s worse,” Lawrence O’Donnell told Maher. “It’s way worse than what Juan Williams said.” Hoover seemed to agree with this sentiment.

Reihan Salam, a conservative analyst with a Muslim name, also seemed irked by Maher’s comments, noting that he “has some uncles named Mohammed” that are “pretty decent guys.”

Of course, it’s not the name that Maher fears, but the religion. (Any of them, in fact — Maher’s qualms with religion of any sort, Islam or not, are long-standing and well-documented.) Hoover further stoked Maher by claiming that the U.K is saddled with a “far bigger problem” than baby names: Sharia Law, which she said is creeping into England.

“Then I’m right,” Maher said, taking her for her word. “I should be alarmed. And I don’t apologize for it.”

And we believe him there. After all, this is the same man who got his previous show Politically Incorrect cancelled when he asserted that the 9/11 attackers were “not cowardly.”

There are many articles on Islam taking over Europe and its being done by the proliferation of having 4 or more children per Islamic family. The articles also state that the Islamic population is overtaking Europe and America so fast that it will overtake us in 50 years or less. Now that was the articles opinions. Maybe its true, and maybe not.

I watched that show last night, and pretty much the only person who agreed with him was O’Donnell. Once he realized he was in a distinct minority he quickly moved on to other things. I didn't much care for his slam on Kentuckians, who he said thinks Libertarian means you work at the library. it was a funny joke, right up until he directed the punchline towards Kentucky (he's not a Ran Paul fan, for sure). But he did have one of the funniest video pieces on Christine O’Donnell that I've seen yet. It was also one of the scariest because she's actually a candidate for public office.

I'm sorry but this is the best thing I have heard all day, I forgot the fact that one of my family members is now terminal and that I have outrageous vet bills to deal with one very sick cat.

Talk about a figment of one's unfertile outdated imagination, Maher needs some lessons in fact gathering.

Let's see.

Europe has been on a population decline since - the 1950's. They have after the war been rebuilding but not repopulating as they should be.

With a overall population growth of 1.38% last year, and the fact that we have 1.98% mortality rate, with populations in several areas exceeding 2% - the middle east is one of them - we don't get that there is a problem with the "save the planet" and the "world is overpopulated" concepts that many are led to believe exists.

The other factor involved about Europe is their immigration has been replacing their dying at a rate of two to one because they don't know how to handle the flood of immigrants and have been sold that the population needs to be stable but can't just figure out how to do it. Germany is one great example with the lack of people, opps maybe that was started by design a while ago?

One funny aspect of propagation is the idea that the parent knows the future. Many in those cultures who are at that 2% level do not take in account what the world would be like in the immediate future "OH I would not want to raise a kid in today's world" but many in other cultures rather seem to live any way they could to raise the kids because in their culture there is a need to extend it.

The one thing that is bothersome to a lot of people who just get it is the idea that kids in our society are not there to be raised and populate the earth but rather as an extension of the parents desire to fill some need or gap in their lives.

Thanks Maher, I needed the laugh.
