'Barack Obama is the most powerful writer since Julius Caesar' [Kathryn Jean Lopez]

This, from the president's chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts. Scott Johnson goes to town, in response.

Rocco Landesman, the NEA chairman, said, in part:
This is the first president that actually writes his own books since Teddy Roosevelt and arguably the first to write them really well since Lincoln. If you accept the premise, and I do, that the United States is the most powerful country in the world, then Barack Obama is the most powerful writer since Julius Caesar. That has to be good for American artists.

It don't matter, the source is questionable, as is the organization they belong to.

The country since the depression and the creation of the WPA thinks that government funded art is a necessity, it is not. It is needed to provide a form of welfare to those who otherwise should be starving and off this planet.

Long before the WPA people were exposed to art and now we are exposed to the intelgesia and the elite telling us who is the artist and what is are.

Do away with the NEA, let's bring back the sanity of the artist in all of us.

The source and the group are certainly questionable....lol as i read on another board "Rocco Landesmand" is nothing but a "boot licker" for barry....he will do whatever it takes to keep the Fed funds running to the NEA.....
