do any of the carriers allow one to run under their own authority while under contract? Say if one recieved their authority from the FMCSA would that person be allowed to run for the carrier they were contracted to?

Some would i'm sure. BUT, lemme ask, why in the world would you want to??

it was a question that arose, just in case. all these years in college and i still cant spell, geez.

Yes... why in the world would you want to pay double insurance, do twice the paperwork, have twice the headache? Do your homework, find some customers, treat your partners right, and you won't need two decals. You'll have as much freight as you can handle.

I agree 100% with what your saying Hawk but realize that only about 2 to 3% of the people on this site have the ability to do this. Without a carrier to babysit and hold their hand most could not survive in this business.
