Im still sitting here Cant run for Nothing. But then again 464 mile Dead heads are the Pits. That the price I pay going t Florida. Hmm If I dont get outa here with somthing good Im never going down there again with out a Back up. I mean it. End Quarter Invetories for Companies realy are the Pits. 227 gallons X $ 3.15 a gallon = $717.00 dollars for fuel.

$999.00 X 45% = $ 449.55

Do the Math your self.

Figures are for a Tractor trailer with a 475 cat coupled to a 13 speed. Tractor pullling a reefer Trailer.
Not some Straight Truck or Van.

Lets put a twist on it as well and your Going to an area where you got to DH Out.

Would you do this???

No-win scenario

I don't believe in no-win scenario

The only way I seen doing that at all would be doing another one outa the place for not less than 2.70 amile and give equal miles if not more. Thats an an average then of 1.82 a mile. if the Miles out were exactly the same but those miles would have to be $2.70 a mile for it to work.

1133 x2 = 2266 miles
2266 miles divided by 5 MPG = 453 gallons of fuel
453 gallons of fuel X $3.15 = $1427.58

2266 miles X 1.82 = $4124.12 X 45%= $1855.85
but as a rule 40% is the max. = $1649.64
Now that would work providing the Second one got $2.70 a mile at 1133 miles.

I dont believe in the No-win scenario.

I've never heard of reefer freight being that bad....esp in a metro area. I come from flat bedding and auto transport. I JUST got into expedite.......and got stuck here for the weekend so I understand the bored part.

I keep hearing that reefers are running for no less then 2 - 2.25 a mile, and I know for a fat flats come out of there all the time for a min of 1.50, but........

Are you leased to a company or your own auth? If your leased I can almost put it together to understand it, but if your under your own #'s........ I don't get why it would be that bad....

Ya Im told that Freight is Slow due to all the End of Quarter Inventories.

I was doing good till I took that load to Tampa area then I hit the wall this week, and been sitting in Atlanta GA since.

Funney I talk to a Friend thats Same. and They are Hoping all over TN MI NJ KY , NC, NY, PA ect areas. Doing realy good. Hmm interesting isnt it.

88 cents per mile in a dry van straight wouldn't even be appealing unless there are several loads all going to roughly the same place. Those are cheap rates for a tractor pulling a reefer.
Your friends are probably telling you accurate information. Atlanta has been fairly busy including this week. We had a truck drop today and is picking up another this afternoon back to Ohio.
Maybe it is the reefer? Not sure.

Just strange to hear that a reefer can't come out of ATL. I'm still wondering if hes leased to a company......that might be the "catch" that is keeping him there?
