Anti-trust issue

I was reading over an email I got from someone who deals with alot of different carriers thats part of the alliance.I have taken out names but I am sure many of you have already got this same e-mail

it deals with a question of could a set rate be established for all the members.

I don't think it would happen because too many are trying to undercut the other. Much of the Alliance freight is coming from 3PL's that require that bidding process.

Are they talking about rates they are bidding from shippers and brokers, or on the rates they ask of one another when they cover loads for each other,"in-house", so to speak?
