Ah, freedom! This will be happening more and more. Get used to it. Think either of the presumptive presidential nominees would so much as condemn this? When this crap is happening regularly nationwide, and we're not far from it, the idea of President Paul is going to seem like a great idea. It'll be too late by then, of course.

Wow, great stuff. But I'm not sure how you can even think about all of this with the drone of the black helicopters constantly in your ears.:p

Just because a person is paranoid by nature does nothing to lessen the probability that they really are "out to get ya". :D

Do you know of any reason why yours would be searched so often?

Well, let's start with the beginning... in GA the reason was the tag light out - pulled over, asked for permission to search. Since I had nothing to hide, it didn't bother me. In WI because my rear windows were covered and he stated that "in the state of WI it's illegal to cover the rear windows". In KS because my license plate had a frame that was covering the state's name, but that was BS, 'cause the frame was barely touching the state's name. In NM was the border patrol, a very mean guy. Also I've been pulled over in TX twice for the same reason: the tag light is too dim! Both time I got warnings... and once again in TX, one useless-for-society-being followed me for about 20 miles, waiting for a reason to pull me over. And you know what I'm afraid of? I know I'm always clean, never had any problems with the law, never tried a "herb" or "dust", but one day I might be pulled over by a crazy guy, shoot me to death, put a gun in my hand and claim that I was threatening him. That's I'm afraid of. And the freedom they got nowadays to do whatever they want to, the chances to meet such a person are growing higher and higher.

I have posted my response to searches before but again. "Sir no disrespect to you but I don't allow searches w/out a warrant or a K-9. This conversation is also being recorded. I don't trust cops and like another on here 95% are dishonest making the other 5% look bad. Hope they don't mind me using their quote.
I am also gathering quotes from several people about installing dash cams on all my trucks. That's how bad it's gotten.

Keep thinking that. All the evidence is in my favor. Is freedom growing or shrinking in America?

There's some importance about the phraseology, according to what I've heard. The important phrase is "I do not consent to any search. Am I free to go?" You're establishing some important things by the way you phrase it.

One trick they use is a chain response. They get you saying no several times in a row, with questions you're going to say no to. Then the last few are, "There's nothing illegal in there?"

"No."

"No drugs?"

"No drug paraphernalia?"

"No."

"No illegal weapons?"

"No."

And you're just eager to get away from this guy so you're going no, no, no, no, thinking you're about to be sent on your way.

"So you don't mind if I have a look in there?"

"N---, ummm..."

"You have nothing to hide, right?"

Then if you switch to not consenting to a search, he calls that probable cause and searches anyway.

"I do not consent to any search. Am I free to go?"

Learn it, live it, declare it right away when he asks and don't deviate from it.

Try to say "yes" to any of these questions, even if you know the truth/right answer is "no"... :))

Of course, no is the correct answer to all until he gets to, "You don't mind if I have a look in there, do you?" There, the correct answer is, "I do not consent to any searches. Am I free to go?" But he asked those other "no" questions to condition you to say no, you don't mind...

Salesmen do the reverse, try to get you to say yes and keep saying yes so you're more likely to say yes when they close.

I've put on almost a million miles expediting in vans with the rear windows covered. I have been pulled over twice; once in Wisconsin for having the audacity to display 4 flammable hazmat placards and once in Ohio for having a headlight out. That's it!

Opel, is this your van?

Welcome to the USSA....United Socialists States of Amerika....when the obama-clinton socialist party finishes with us we'll have to "show me your papers" to take a drive to church!!
I live in Texas now, but spent most of my life in SC/GA.. Last summer I was working in SC and deciced to take a trip to Dallas,TX to the big truck show there and then go home for a few days.
I'm cruising along in southwest GA on I-85,near exit 28. I'm in the right lane, running about zone limit in my 2006 Nissan Sentra and notice a county unit in the opposite direction. There's a semi just ahead of me, and the county unit flashes his blue light a couple of pulses, then brake lights come on. I'm thinking to myself,Mr. Trucker is gonna have a bad afternoon. Well, I decide to take the exit to go to the Love's(or is it a Pilot?) to get some gas. To my surprise, the county unit followed me up the offramp. As I put on my signal to turn into the truckstop,he put on the blue lights. I stopped in the parking lot. The officer approached and asked if there was a problem with my tag. I said no, it's fine, inspection is good, taxes paid etc. ,why do you ask. He replies "your tag won't run". He asked for license(no request for registration and proof of insurance!) and goes to his unit. A few minutes later he says the Texas system must be down,so have a nice day, sir.
I didn't think much about it until this March(the 26th) I had been in SC for a business meeting and was driving back to Texas. Again, in my Nissan Sentra, in GA,on I-85 approaching exit 28. I saw a county unit with a traffic stop on the right side and he was doing the full vehicle search, driver's stuff all over the side of the road. As I go over the hill I see another county unit parked in the median. I remembered the stop from last year, so I watch this guy. I'm a 57 yr. old white male who's never had a ticket. Not one in 40 years of driving. I'm running zone limit with all traffic passing me,so I slowed down to 68 to see if that would trigger a "strike". Yep, it sure did. Barney just couldn't take the pressure!! LOL!! That Texas tag probably had something to do with it. I pulled over at the off-ramp wide area, officer approached, asked how's my day going? I replied personally it's fine but as a driver I'm curious why you stopped me. He replied "sir, your tag won't run!!) That's right, two stops in six months, same state, same county, same exit, same excuse! I said I can't control the tag computers, but what I want to know is why did you run my tag? I broke no law. Well of course that challenged his authority so he replied "I don't have to explain the law to you" and asked for my license. Again,no request for registration or proof of insurance. After a lengthy wait, his partner arrived and they asked to search my vehicle. I said yes,"cause I didn't want to have to wait on the warrant and dogs to arrive. After about 20 mins. they decided I could go.
Moral of the story is I was profiled...A grey haired old white guy in a little Sentra with Texas tags running below zone limit!! Twice in the same county with the same line about my tag not running... I'm pretty sure my tag is good because it clears the Border Patrol checkpoints every time I leave the Rio Grande Valley northbound!!
Maybe they had stopped so many minorities that day they needed a non-minority stop on the record to avoid a lawsuit for over-abusing minorities, I don't know. I do realize however, they could have easily ruined my life simply by "finding" a $5 bag of drugs they took off the previous stop. I would have been helpless against that. If stopped again,I'm gonna decline the search, insist on a warrant, dogs, and full audio-visual recording of the event. It's getting so it ain't safe to be in Amerika any more, comrads!!!

The Obama-Clinton Socialist Party??? Which Clinton, Bill or Hillary?

Ok, I'll bite! Cite one bill that President Obama or President Clinton signed into law that curtailed our freedoms ("show me your papers") more than the Patriot Act and the creation of the Department of Homeland Security, which all came about under President George W. Bush. I'll be generous and give you 30 days to complete this assignment. Ready, set, go! The clock is ticking.

I know im not the one youre waiting on for an answer, but I'll take a swing at it anyway.

Without doubt, Bush did far more damage to the country and constitution than Clinton. Bush did more damage to the constitution than anyone since Lincoln. However, Clinton was still horrendous. His first two years were the most radical leftist administration in our country's history, and the rest, under him and Reno, was also a terrifying time to be an American who believed in the Bill of Rights. The (deleted) made statements about how we cant be so concerned about preserving the rights of Americans. He signed the ugly gun ban which redefined assault weapons and illegally banned many. He and Reno incinerated dozens of Americans in Waco and murdered a woman standing in a doorway holding her baby.

Yes, Bush came along and topped him for a new high in low, but at the time, he was a tyrant. Just like Bannister and the 4-minute mile, once.somebody does it, pretty soon someone comes along and tops him. Another reason to elect Ron Paul. Romney might just be the guy to outdo Obama.
