'98 Alumibunk, Where's the Fuse Box?

Lost all sleeper functions, can not find a fuse box for the circa 1998 Alumabunk sleeper, you know the one, about 60", a lot of them out there.
The frickin' heater and A/C already quit, and Alumabunk says they don't have replacement parts, but I would like some lights in the sleeper.
OBTW, Alumabunk would not answer their phones, or call me back after I left several messages. I only found out they won't supply parts for the heater/ A/C through my local Freightliner dealer.
Needless to add that I am less than thrilled with Alumabunk and will RUN not walk away from any thing to do with them henceforth.
So, does anybody know if their is a seperate fuse box for their sleepers as of 1998? And where it is located?

Sorry I can't answer your questions about the fuse box in a '98 sleeper, but I might be able to help you contact Alumibunk. I'm working with them right now on repairs for damages done by a forklift. They're in the process (pretty much, but not quite complete) or moving from their old facility in Woodhaven to a brand new building in Toledo. When we were in last week, they literally unpacked a computer so they could run an estimate for us, so they still need time to get fully settled in. They told me today that they're having trouble with their 800 number. They do have a regular number, though - 419-729-2594. Don't know if they normally answer inquiries by email or not, but I do know that they also don't have internet access yet. They're closed until Wednesday now, but when you do call, ask for Crystal - I know she's been a big help to us.

Something to think about - did your power to the sleeper all go at once? Could be a main fuse, but seems there would be something causing that to go. My thought is that there might be a short in the connection to the batteries or the maybe the inverter - somewhere right in that main line there. If you can access it, it might not be too hard to find the problem. (I know...you've still gotta find that fuse box, first!)

An inverter won't make the lights go out.

I drove an '05, and the extra fusebox was in the driver's side sidebox, toward the rear, behind a piece of carpeting with snaps.

Funny... I talked to Crystal about the fusebox. I asked if a mechanic could come to the phone to tell me where it would be. She said they were too busy... just bring it in. Yeah... big help. At least it wasn't my dime.

I don't run or walk. I just turn my head. :p

Couple of issues. The fuse plate as mentioned is in the drivers side bunk door on the back wall. Not likely the problem.
More likely it is the ground strap attached to the frame if everything went at once. Most or older AB's don't have a main breaker for everything.

With regards to the heat/AC unit, don't know what they have or don't. If they have nothing, go to ICT, ARI, Double Eagle, or Bentz and they can put a retrofit in. Probably cheaper than AB.
You would think they would carry parts for a 98. I would call again and see if you get the same answer, or call their main place in Canada.
Might of just had a moron on the other end of the line that didn't want to unpack a computer out of the box because of this "move".

Didn't mean to imply the problem might be with the inverter. Was thinking it might be a main wire feed from the batteries to the sleeper, and that probably splits off somewhere to go to the inverter. My thought was that tracing from the batteries to the inverter, if you can get access to do it, might help find the problem spot. Also have to say though that I don't have the truck here to even look at, so was making a wild guess hoping it might help.

I have to agree that they aren't great on service, especially by phone. I've had similar experiences with being told to "just bring it in". Both times the repairs were very simple, too. Easy to do myself if I'd just had a couple questions answered. I will say, though, that as frustrating as it has been to have to bring it in, they've been pretty decent the couple times I've had to. Supposedly this move is going to help them provide better service. Guess time will tell on that one. (Not at all sure it will help service by phone at all, either.) Personally Alumibunk wouldn't be my choice - only have this one cause the truck was a repo with under 10,000 miles at a price too good to turn down.

Hey thanks all.
The lights all came back, immaculate illumination maybe?
Must be a short, I'll dig around when I can when I am somewhere above 40 degrees.
I was calling Alumibunk about eight months ago, is that when they were moving? About the same time my Freightliner dealer called about A/C parts.
