I've got 2006 Chevy with 4.8. 417,000+ still going, but is real tired. We have '12 vans @ work, also with 4.8 & 6 speeds. the 2 box trucks we have the 6.0 with 6 speeds. under warrantee changed out trans in one of them, (over heating problems.... burnt trans up).

suspension seats, new engine, new transmission, 50 gal fuel tank, hd springs due to the large fuel tank.... or a new truck

We get 10-12 in a chevy 15' boxtruck. They drive good. weak point is the 6 sp trans. has over heating problems.(replaced @ 125,000 miles) If I were going to buy one for myself I'd add exlarge trans cooler

Yes to ROI, right now I'm driving company van, when mine gets runnin again I'll triple the mileage pay. example: 400.00 week now will go up to 1200.00 week. our freight is steady year a round with very little in slow downs.

Very low oil pressure, only get up to 20psi at most. After driving new 2011 2500 extended, yes I do feel good with my van. With added income I will be able to make up the cost well within a year. Down time for this work would be less than 2 weeks, which includes ordering parts.

Ok, here's what I would like to know. How much $ would you spend before buying new van? I have 2006 2500 extended, 4.8, auto. 408,000 miles. I run about 110,000 miles a year. Engine has death rattle in it. Also trans is getting to need rebuilt. I have been looking at prices, mileage warrenty...

Mine has been doing the same. I'm thinking because of the location it may be condensation from exhaust (muffler)

Just a note: I have been told from the company that Iveco will not be brought to the US.:mad: If given a choice I would take an Iveco over all the other vans/ trucks..

I use HD degreaser, can be found @ most lowes, wally worlds and home depot's Cleans every thing off road grime, fuel off windows, road tar, florida 'luv bugs', etc.

Why do so many try to make the smallest engine do the biggest jobs? With the exception of OVM and his 25 mpg avg 5cyl diesel sprinter, I would say this is not a good thing to do.I do not see where anyone can achive longevity and dependability from the smaller gasser engine.A few have tried that...

I currently drive a Chevy van and allot of my trips have been to FL this year. Your problem maybe what I finally found out. It is the high heat and also the humidity that causes the unit @ idle to actually freeze up. Mine only occurred during traffic stops and or slow downs. also check the cabin...

Had my brakes worked on this last weekend. The MGR was telling me about a guy who gets his checy van worked on there, van has over 500,000 miles on it. 2006 with 4.8 mine is '06 van with 4.8, auto runs great just do the service as needed and, no problems..
