    Test out the Motorola Skip

If all you have is your Fisher Price phone, maybe it doesn't matter. For the rest of us, it could be a problem. I forget the court that ruled this, but if your phone has no password, the government didn't consider it private and it can be searched at-will. If you password protect it, you then...

    Solar generator

Not knowing anything about electronics, I don't know how long this would take to charge or how long it would power an AC unit. It says it can power a fridge for 4 days. No noise or emissions, though. http://link.shop-herringtoncatalog.com/YesConnect/HtmlMessagePreview?a=RisSmeuCjWqDV4Gr2fJUXB

    Samsung phone

T-Mobile cost me more in lost revenue from missed calls than in the actual up-front costs. I got lucky because they changed their data plan & I was able to cancel, but it would have been worth paying the escape fee regardless.

    New cell carrier recommendation?

When I was with TMo, I was happy with data speed in their 4G areas, but I missed a lot of calls from dispatch, and more than once it left me sitting. When TMo changed their data plan, it gave me the opportunity to get out of my contract.

    New cell carrier recommendation?

I just looked at Sprint's coverage map. Their 4G coverage is way behind the others, even T-Mobile's. I thought they were farther ahead than that.

    New cell carrier recommendation?

I wonder if I can get some sort of repeater to improve Sprint's signal... They have truly unlimited data. Their signal improves after I leave my driveway. If I can improve it inside the house...

    New cell carrier recommendation?

There's a warning for everyone, if mobile hot spot is important to you. I thought they were slow updating the Motorolas. Key Lime Pie should be out soon, & ppl are still getting JB. Sure hope the June Fabrics ppl figure out a fix. I rarely use the hot spot feature, but when I do, it's important...

    New cell carrier recommendation?

Nope. "Checking subscription" is what I get when just using PDAnet. Others have the same problem. If you look up PDAnet on Google Play, you'll see that in the comments. My guess is, you were using 4.1 before they put in the kill switch. I just upgraded to it a few days ago. I haven't checked...

    New cell carrier recommendation?

Update to 4.1.2 . Neither the wifi not Bluetooth DUN work any longer. It says "Checking subscription" and then comes back saying I have to pay them $30 to do that. That's with Foxfi/PDAnet and that other Foxfi thing, whatever it's called, that's supposed to mask that you're doing it. Tethering...

    New cell carrier recommendation?

I'm thinking it's time for a new cell service. I'm seeing adverts for cheaper companies like Virgin, Cricket, etc. with unlimited data. I'm just not happy with the money I'm turning over to Verizon every month. When I was on the road, I had been with T-Mobile, but suffered horrible service...

    Cell Carriers

Something else might be fishy. Since other people are having the same problem, maybe Verizon has changed the way they're calculating days use. I mean, maybe a change to their benefit. It might be a little soon to conclude that, but it's a possibility.

    Cell Carriers

We went through the same thing, except instead of cutting me off, they changed my plan, without my knowledge or consent, to one with no data package, so I was being billed for every byte. So it was quite the shock when I got a bill for over $3500. There was a screaming match over the phone, as...

    Cell Carriers

I forget the names, but there are apps that can track which apps on your phone are using your bandwidth. You may have a rogue app transmitting in the background.

Android Is Popular Because It’s Cheap, Not Because It’s Good

They bring in the dollars because half of the "fans" aren't even baseball fans or there for the game. Many are there because they're Wrigley fans, or tourists told they need to see the ivy and the traditional scoreboard. And that's another reason that, if the Scrubs are really serious about...

Android Is Popular Because It’s Cheap, Not Because It’s Good

The Scrubs are an abomination. They should be folded by MLB for the good of the game.

Android Is Popular Because It’s Cheap, Not Because It’s Good

You remind me of the average Cubs fan, whose legions will buy every seat in foul Wrigley Field even if it's mid-June and the Scrubs are already mathematically eliminated. Thing is, it gives the Scrubs no incentive to make the changes necessary to win. Likewise, crApple will dole out new versions...

Android Is Popular Because It’s Cheap, Not Because It’s Good

Exactly. iPhones are childrens' toys compared to Android.

Android Is Popular Because It’s Cheap, Not Because It’s Good

Huh? Android works out of the box. You can spend your lifetime upgrading, customizing, and configuring if you like because it's possible, but it's not necessary. I have an Android tablet and an Android phone, and they did everything right out of the box even before I started customizing.

    Verizon sells spectrum to AT&T

Why would the two big boys on the block be worried about an also-ran? Sprint's data plan is good, but that's the only thing they have going for them. Their network sucks, both in coverage and data speed. I've tried them a couple times and always ended up returning the phone during the trial period.

Android Is Popular Because It’s Cheap, Not Because It’s Good

Keep in mind, there are lots of people who tried iPhones and hate them. And every Android phone I've ever had has cost more than an iPhone.
