proof some people should not be allowed to have kids

Who cares about a kid in the back of a truck. Apparently it didn't die or even get hurt. What I want to know is, is that a wheelchock or someone's head by the left front tire of this truck? It also appears that this truck had a recent collision with a pizza delivery dude. The evidence is...

Carrier Appearal Question; Removing Old Logos

Even irregular readers who read your blog know you moved your truck to Landstar. In fact it's your blog that causes them to be irregular. May I suggest fortifying your blog with some dietary fiber? Add words like raspberry, apple skin, legumes, bran flakes and prunes to every 4th or 5th...

How do most companies figure mileage?

A few years ago I encountered an 84 kilometer detour due to flooding in Manitoba. I informed Panther of the situation and got paid for the extra 84 kilometers. Pjjjjj, how do you like the metric touch, eh?

How do most companies figure mileage?

Different companies use different methods of calculating mileage. Some common mileage calculators are; PCmiler, Rand McNally, Household Goods Mileage Guide and Kevin's String and Thumbtack guide. My carrier uses all of the above, depending on the contract with the customer. I have found...

Help with finding the wight truck

I'm not saying the old Spicer 7 speed is the best, but probably the most durable and was certainly the most popular transmission with large fleets because of it's durability. Personally I always liked the Fuller 13 speed. A very versatile transmission, but being a compound transmission not...

    Having a beer

Here's another hypothetical example: It's a hot muggy Friday afternoon. You and Diane are at home. Your truck is in the shop for work and won't be ready until sometime late Monday. You and Diane have just finished your second cold Summit Pale Ale. You hear the goober next door screaming. You...

    Having a beer

If one were to distill the spirit of the law to it's essence, methanol/ethanol and partook of this mixture while on duty, and lost one's sight because of the high methanol content, would this be considered blind justice?

Pros and cons to a permanent sleeper

Mschaefer, please define "permanent sleeper". I think there is some confusion. Turtle has a permanent bed with the whole Sprinter being his sleeper. Others have a walled off sleeper area. Personally I prefer the permanent bed and the wide open space of my tuna can when empty.

    What if there were no....

As an O/O I would rather compete against fleet owned trucks vs. company owned trucks. There's always talk of fleet owners getting preferential treatment, and I'm sure it happens, but not to the extent company owned equipment would see. My entry into expediting is somewhat an anomaly. I...
