Can 18-wheel electric trucks be far off?

Almost if not all diesel locomotives are diesel/electric. The diesel engine(s) power generators that supply electricity to electric motors at the wheels. Same with large mining equipment like those huge dump trucks.

Can 18-wheel electric trucks be far off?

I used to see one of those original Scions, the squared off ones, running around my neighborhood. The license plate read: CLWNCAR.

Can 18-wheel electric trucks be far off?

I read the article and became confused, more so than normal. Maybe something got lost in the language translations. Mr. Gorrie (Canadian) tours an Iveco (Italian) in Berlin (German) and Moot (Minnesotan) reads it at home on a Sony (Japanese) while sipping coffee (Columbian). Truly a global...

    Etrack

I'm with Leo, I like and mostly use the E-track mounted on the floor. I also have E-track on the walls I occasionally use for securing drums or top heavy freight. Get 10' sections. It now comes galvanized, in addition to the standard painted product. I'd opt for the galvanized. My E-track...

    FedEx 4th qtr. profits

To paraphrase a colloquialism: If you took Custom Critical's annual revenue and shoved it up a gnat's butt it would be the equivalent of a BB in a boxcar.

Another cool addition to the expo!

I agree! It's the hyped competition that bothers me. Even these shows where they remodel a house, there has to be a contrived deadline to compete against. How about a show, Expedite Truckers: Where real expedite truckers do battle with depressed rates due to competition, extreme weather...

Another cool addition to the expo!

There isn't much reality in these reality TV show. All are scripted and hyped with competition. I remember watching a National Geographic Special on ice road trucking which spawned the IRT show. Some of the drivers from the National Geographic show were featured on the IRT show, minus the...

    truck stop inspections

Oh lordy I do. I have run that route many a time doing the Coffeyville thing, like the drink, only spelled different. I always stay away from the trucks in Iola. I also stay away from the trucks in Garnett, Paola, Chanute, Cherryvale and the rest stop north of Cherryvale. In fact I try and...

    Tri states ?

Could be. I know I am. You must be too. There's a question for you in the 48" high thread. I'm also curious. I am having a difficult time getting answers to questions about the extra weight and cost from Vision. I get replies from Chevrolet dealers but most are not HCV specific and the...

    Tri states ?

If you're going to post truckstop rumors; especially if you have seen the truck belonging to the driver of the origin of the rumor, and recognize the logo on the truck, is it asking to much to correctly identify the company that is the subject of the rumor?

I believe the Colonel was referring to your generic use of the word "tristates". Did the man driving the big truck have logos that looked similar to this: . I hope this little misunderstanding between you and the Colonel didn't move him ahead of me on your list of people you would like to "meet".

    US Express Van Deal

Many don't care about the rate per mile, but the total miles. If you fall into that category then here's a guaranteed 2100 miles a week at $1470. If you live in the origin city deadhead would be almost nil and you would be home every weekend.

    Tag Axle Question

I believe you are referring to a lift axle. A lift axle only needs to be down to supplement the legal load capacity of another axle or group of axles. A tag axle is always down.
