    Average miles per hour?

That's just about 2,000 miles a week . OTR freight drivers wouldn't consider that a lot . Many of them run over 3.500 solo . That's why so many drivers can't adjust to expediting . They can't stand waiting for a load even though it pays better

Does anyone else despise Pilot Travelcenters?

Things are getting worse . Pilot bought the two Davis Brothers truck stops on I-65 between Louisville and Bowling Green in KY. Two lower priced fuel stops just became higher priced ones . How do companies figure they are saving money getting a nickel discount at stops that charge eight or nine...

    All Types Expediting

The old posts say they owe a lot of people money for loads , and charge an excessive amount upfront for physicals then only partially refund the money to people that get smart and sign with someone else and never even take the physical . If that isn't enough of a red flag for you All Types once...

You gotta see this truck !

Thanks for posting the pic ATCO . I knew it would lead to some interesting conversation .

You gotta see this truck !

Sorry , I didn't know how to transfer the photo here but go to trucksforsale.com , click expeditor trucks , and check out the GMC on the very bottom . I'd love to see somebody drive up for orientation in that rig ! " But the dealer said it was an expediter ! "

    new to expediting

If you have a CDL-A or want to get one you'd probably like running hopper bottom feed trucks . They pretty much stay in that area and don't usually work weekends .

The best way to protect your house and assets is to form an LLC or incorporate . One thing I learned though . If you use a second mortgage to buy a truck that makes your home part of the business and you lose that protection . Ignore ads of people saying they will help you form an LLC . I went...

    Working intrastate

I know one of the shop workers complained to the Department OF Labor about not getting time and a half for overtime . They worked a 50 hour week . Answer was any business doing all their business within the state is not subject to Federal regulations .

    How much can you make?

A similar question was just asked in the general forum . The gross income doesn't tell you much . There are a lot of variables . Is it worth it ? Evidently it is for many but I'd say most are not in it for the money . There are also many that decide it isn't worth it . I've seen too many...

Cal the FedEX Custom Critical recruiter and ask them to mail you this info . They will send charts showing yearly average rate per mile , miles driven , availability , etc. for all classes of trucks .

Most applications I've seen ask about convictions , not arrests . Innocent until proven guilty , right ? It's true many people that commited crimes get off on technicalities but only a conviction is guilt . The one problem may be a restraining order . A judge will hit you with one of them...

    Working intrastate

I worked for a company in GA and things were as mentioned in the original post . I was there for 3 years . Nobody ever took any drug test . The trucks had no DOT numbers , no logs were kept. They operated class 8 tractors .Other employees had filed complaints and were told Federal regs only...

    Working intrastate

I wish ATCO much success with his new business . Working strictly intrastate exempts you from Federal regulations . I worked for a truck and trail repair company in GA . They worked strictly within the state and logging and drug tests were not required . I could and often did work over 80 hours...

    ref Topic #2397

A lot of people mistake OOIDA for a union . They are not . You pay a membership fee once a year . Your spouse gets a reduced fee as do all drivers for trucks you own . The lawsuits are on behalf of owner operators that got ripped off by large companies . The suits are mostly filed on behalf of...

    Game plan

Did you join OOIDA ? They are very helpful in knowledge of legal matters . They charge $450 to get your DOT , MC and BOC 3 . Leasing companies are a good source for used trucks . What are you doing about random drug testing ?
