    Looking Both Ways To Van or Not to Van : Looking Both Ways

    Having about 30 yrs in TT parking a straight is a breeze. As long as we're both happy that's all that matters. And being MORE comfortable is one thing that makes me happy..:)

    Confuzing hazmat

    I'm wondering if this has changed ? I'm solo this week as my lovely wife is in Indiana renewing her License. I reviewed the latest training guide from JJ Keller with her a week ago and I thought an endorsement was needed for any quantity of hazmat. She has the books and I don't pick her up...

    Looking Both Ways To Van or Not to Van : Looking Both Ways

    I'm running solo this week. I have a smaller than average ARI sleeper. I parked last night. I came back to my large refrigerator freezer and removed one of 6 44oz cups of ice. I pulled a bottle of root beer out of fridge and poured it. I sat at my dinette and started my Onan. It's so quiet...

    Volvo Frame Stretching/Staight Truck Thread

    Any frame shop can do a stretch. Contact any truck body retailer, large truck dealer. Price will depend on amount of frame added,number of items moved. It's really a simple process. Monroe truck body used to pay a mechanic 6 hrs for a simple job. I'd figure $3,000 to $5,000 to do the stretch...

    Quiting = no pay?

    Escrow shouldn't be an issue if the owner is just doing a driver change in a vehicle. Driver A is leaving. Driver B will be here in a week.

    I love it when an oem does something that makes a lot of sense.

    Similar to a Bolt. Yep, pretty common. My comment was not you couldn't be comfortable in a $printer. My comment was you can be MORE comfortable in a straight.

    Volvo Frame Stretching/Staight Truck Thread

    I stay in the low 10's consistently. Chassis was on lot, preordered to be Nascar style motorhome. Set up to pull a good size trl and run at 80,000 lbs. With improvements since 2012 and the improved aerodynamics of a D I would think 11 is pretty realistic if a guy tried. Bob Caffee believes I...

    seeking advice on a job offer

    Here's what I think this guy is telling you. He's undercapitalized or failing. He is spending more on the driver than most would. It can be done in a straight (w-2) but not enough income in most van operations to make it work. If you can afford to wait for your money, or lose some if he...

    Looking Both Ways To Van or Not to Van : Looking Both Ways

    In my situation, I'd load, secure, kiss the wife goodnight and close to 650-700 miles later she'll wake me up, fix me dinner, wash my windows. If solo, I don't need the money bad enough to consider 1100 miles in ANY vehicle. I hope you can say the same when you're an old man like me. :)...

    His 5,6,7 or more feet are WAY more comfortable. And when empty he probably has 16-24 feet more if he really wants to get the party going. :)

    Quiting = no pay?

    You'd be better not having a contract with Bolt than not having a contract with an owner. :) Bolt doesn't need to be involved in you leaving an owner. And Bolt probably won't act as a referee.

    Confuzing hazmat

    In Hazmat, it's size that matters. At least when differentiating between labels and placards.

    Volvo Frame Stretching/Staight Truck Thread

    Andy Mohr Truck Center on Holt St in Indianapolis seems to want to go after the expedited market. Lawrence should have sales contact them. ( Chillout, credit the referral fee to my account.) There are at least two Volvo Truck Dealers in Indy. So the first one you see may not be Andy Mohr.

    The confusion is the difference between PLACARDS and LABELS. Very similar, yet very different.
