Best Starting battery for a gm van.

Thanks for tip on the charger. I had picked up on what you said about mixing battery types in an earler post. As for now, the batteries are separated, not charged from the same source. I'll just leave it this way for now and get an AGM for the auxillary battery when I do connect everything.

Best Starting battery for a gm van.

So, I parked at the J in Shelbyville, KY this morning and took a nap. Five hours later I awoke to a dead battery. The gps and sirius radio reciever were the only draws that I know of. The Autozone in Shelbyville had the Platinum battery that fits my van...so I have one with side AND top posts...

    Back soliciting

I would think that the best way to handle that situation would be to tell the party who your about to run the load for that you are currently pursuing that same shipper as a customer. Have the non-compete clause amended to both parties' satisfaction. Would seem the only truly legal way to get...

Things we use to help with mpg?

In that case, CAT engineers don't know what their talking about. I've done a lot of the things spoke of in this thread myself and know that my truck gained fuel mileage. I took it from a 9mpg truck to 10.5+mpg. I drove 65mph fairly consistent.

A nice pic of the 2014 Ford Econoline replacement

I don't see anyone diss'ing on the Sprinter anymore than your diss'ing on the Ford...in a thread about the Ford, no less. FYI: IF they were still building the older style engine like is in the sprinter your driving...and/or if the EPA hadn't forced them to ruin a perfectly good engine.... I...

That was my thought too! I would be driving a new Sprinter right now....if it weren't a Sprinter.

Best Starting battery for a gm van.

Thanks. I called Autozone to verify and they said that their Duralast batteries are new batteries, not reconditioned. I like that Autozone is available most places we travel to. I don't like that apparently only a few select stores carry the Platinum battery. I'll probably pick up a Platinum...

Best Starting battery for a gm van.

So, it seems that my original question should have been "what is the best AGM starting battery for a gm van" :). Oh! It HAS to have side and top posts!

Best Starting battery for a gm van.

I prefer corner post batteries, but I'll make do with side and top posts! Thanks Moot!

I agree....to a point. I dont trust the QC to send an urgent msg. There has been too many times that Ive been waiting on load info and not get it. Call in and find out the dispatcher sent the info out 15-20 minutes ago, but QC hasnt got it to me yet. If Im at a shipper or reciever needing info...

The van in the picture wouldn't. The longer, taller version most likely will. As far as I know we haven't seen any actual dimensions yet. You pretty much need 12 ft of cargo length and 6 ft of cargo height to get Sprinter rates.

Met an owner op who does some interesting things

Bad part is...it's the opposite. I don't know how many times I drove right past the driveway at the yard before I finally learned it...lol. I still miss the back entrance nearly every time. That's Logisitcs! Making John proud! :D

    Battery Help

I can play with what I have now a bit and see if I want to do it that way. Yep, I understand the transfer switch. Actually had that explained to me by an RV guy a while back. He and I just didn't get into the multiple charge sources to the auxillary battery. Using that switch though, I would...
