How Do You Define Expediting Success?

Yes, it is the journey not the destination. As you progress the prioritys may be the same just, not in that particular order. Funny what is rewarding as the road gets seemingly more endless and you find new challenges such as a new truck to pay for or maintain.

    The Mother Load's here!

To all the na-sayers and yea sayers on this thread i'd like to suggest that success in this business is the journey not the destination. Success is a moving target. For the most part the most difficult part of climbing the ladder of success is getting past the fools standing around the bottom...

    handling downtime...

Actually, it is not if the company understands your need for personal time, or, if your desire for personal time is there. It is in fact, that the freight that needs to move, when it needs to move does not understand (or care) about your need for personal time. That is why we are called expediters.

    Now THIS is bad times....

It is amazing how a seemingly innocent sidetrip from the required beaten path can end up in disaster. I encourage my folks to get to the delivery and then rest, or, whatever. In your case being at the delivery wouldn't have lessened your affliction, but, at least you wouldn't have had to...

COE class 8 truck conversion to expedite truck

Actually, It is an excellent concept. You cannot believe the "things" you can get in a 30 foot van at 103" high. With a 25' wheelbase and tripple air ride it rides like a dream. The storage is secure and when you tip the cab for service, all remains the same. (unless you're trashy) 10-13 MPG...

    Confessions of an Expediter

Oh yes, it's a mess out there. Cant believe the big trucks that could get 6-7 MPG but, I bet they achieve little more than 4-5. Foolish. A person can hardly stay outa their way. I Travel I-75 at 65 and when I get in the hammer lane to pass, before I can get back in the right lane they've...

    Transfering Loads

C'mon Rich. There are loads that transfer without the access of dock facilitys. Do you want to be a player or not? Broom must want to be a player, or, he would not be interested in HOW. It is all about the rate for some. Others want to know CAN I GET IT DONE. And that is very good. Believe...

    Transfering Loads

Broom: This is an imperfect world we live in. Maybe you should move one truck to higher ground and the other to lower ground so they might meet up + - . If they still don't meet up then move again. Not exactly rocket science but it works. As far as a dock plate all you need is something you...

    Perplexed in Indiana

No, no Glen not trying to make ends meet. They meet just fine. Won't even consider a lease purchase. I am a Carrier whom wants to retire and allow someone to purchase a small Expedited Carrier. I had anticipated someone would be interested in a business but I guess I was wrong and figgured...

    Perplexed in Indiana

I like Tom Robertson am wondering what people want... I have placed an ad on the Business Opportunities portion of this site to sell equipment, business for the price of a mediocre "new" expedite truck. Records indicate that on a "gross sales" basis, that return is four months. There have been...
