    May plain and simple..

Is parking the truck [in a secure place] and flying an option? Spirit Airlines has some amazing cheap flights - I went to Orlando last week to see my daughter graduate, and am very glad I did. The brat probably wouldn't ever have mentioned she graduated magna cum laude - I about jumped out of my...

ATTN All owners/fleet owners & carriers

Permission to possess a vehicle one doesn't own is construed as open ended, meaning they don't ever have to give it back? I can't believe the law allows that. But I guess it's best to cover that contingency when writing a contract, with something like "must return vehicle to specified location...

    Makes ya wonder....

Didn't even notice the date, just thought it funny, when so many are all "Thank a vet" lately. I mean no disrespect to vets, but thanking them and appreciating what they represent are two different things, and random "thank you for your service" comments to unknown vets is pretty chancy...

    No boys, no girls

I put my eggs into the basket of the wording of the school officials who will actually create the curriculum, not the author of the article. Maybe, when kids learn to "appreciate individual differences", men won't freak right out when their toddler likes to wear pink, but OMG, he's a BOY! How...

    Makes ya wonder....

http://www.komonews.com/news/local/87291857.html How many people thanked this one for his service, lol. Just saying: they're not all heroes, same as any group isn't all it's cracked up [or talked down] to be. So thank one at random, [or diss them, if you prefer], but know you might be...

    Here We Go Again

When cops can "respond with deadly force" to everyone who "resists arrest", and they get to define "resist", we have lost the reason and rule of law.

    No boys, no girls

Based solely on what was written in this article, [specifically the actual material proposed by the school authorities], both 'fluidity' and 'spectrum' refer to sexuality, not to gender. As in: one can be hetero, homo, or bi sexual, and the latter is where the fluidity and spectrum play a role...

    Anti-gay

I think it's an affectation, a fad, a typical adolescent thing. I noticed many years ago, that they use the words 'gay' and ':censoredsign:' as the ultimate insult possible, and they didn't really internalize that, either. I also think it's just as wrong to make those who are attracted to their own...

    No boys, no girls

I read them, and think people are overreacting to what they perceive. Of course, many of those people don't want their kids taught anything about sex, [and they do a poor job of it, if any at all, themselves], so it doesn't surprise me. Peter Sprigg of the FRC said "They're telling us you can...

    Anti-gay

Nope. But language [and usage] change constantly. Remember when gay meant carefree? On a related note, middle school girls are now calling their girl friends 'wife' - how weird is that?! Gave me pause to read my granddaughter's posts on facebook, lol.

    No boys, no girls

The only ones saying that it's going to "deconstruct gender" or make it fluid are the Coalition for Traditional Values and the Family Research Council, and we know how their beliefs on anything other than abstinence until traditional marriage [and the missionary position ever after] do not align...

Having a [female] wife, he's not much of an argument for traditional marriage, either.

Is it slow all over ???

Thanks, Murray, just splurted my drink through my nose. Ken being "long and tall" was the image that caused it - nice guy he may be, but long and tall he aint, lol. :D

    No boys, no girls

I don't know from 'gender fluidity', never even heard of it, and it sounds pretty bizarre. I can understand feeling one was assigned the wrong gender at birth, but one can't flip flop on the issue: pick one and stick with it, dammit! There are many times when a newborn's gender isn't at all...

    No boys, no girls

For the record, I got paddled in junior high, and what I learned is it's not ok to hit anyone, unless you are in a position of authority - then it's "a learning experience". BS. All most kids learn from being 'spanked' is not to get caught doing it again. And that adults are real good at hypocrisy.

Do we know who this is?

If they don't want to identify the man, why say it's "a 42 year old Michigan man"? That's just irresponsible, if the family hasn't been notified, and why else withhold his name? So hard to see that, my thoughts are with the family, now.

Amtrak train derails going 106mph in 50mph curve.

I'm going with 'we may never know', which is as frustrating as the engineer's absence of memory, but it's a reality we have to accept, sometimes. I'm just not willing to assume the engineer is making up the memory loss, because I have suffered a closed head injury, and have no memory of the...

    No boys, no girls

Indoctrination is teaching what one would like to be true, no matter how much evidence accrues against it. Conservatives don't like change, granted, but it's just stupid to ignore what science has learned, because it goes against what we thought we knew. Intelligence is accepting that knowledge...

The lights are out on 2 Officers, state of the nation.

It's because the city would like the money that tickets are issued to poor people: they can't afford an attorney, and don't have friends in high places to get it tossed, as others do. The city knows some won't be paid, but they have many ways to 'encourage' payment, like issuing arrest...
