    BR unit?

The few BR units I have seen have been Sprinters. I talked with a woman a few years ago with one. The freight was high paying with lots of deadhead and the loads were few and far between.

    Waiting For A Dry Run

It was 657 loaded miles and I got paid for one night of sleeping. So yeah, not too bad except I have 20 vans in front of me on the Romulus board.

    Waiting For A Dry Run

The day shift dude and I laid these tubes on their sides. Delivered this morning at 05:00, 17 hours later than originally scheduled. The shipper booked this load through a 3PL, no surprise there. What blew me away was that this 3PL's business hours are from 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. I don't...

    Waiting For A Dry Run

I'm still waiting! Hour number 10 on the detention time clock. It really doesn't matter what the customer is willing to pay, my contract is with Panther.

I'm all for safety. My motto is: "There is no I in wheel chock." I guess there is an "eye" in wheel chock if you include the eye-bolt for the tether. When I am talking or shooting video while driving down the road I always use the UChockPhone.

    Waiting For A Dry Run

I've been waiting at a shipper since 17:55 yesterday to get authorization from the customer for a dry run. The freight was scheduled for pick up at 21:00, but was "ready now". It was indeed ready when I arrived, all 67 inches in height. I asked the shipper if it could be laid down to fit...

    MATD. Where Are They?

A driver texting should have the ability to more readily react to a warning stimulus such as a horn, lights or a middle finger than a drunk. Texters do look up from their phones occasionally. Also a texter will have better motor skills when reacting to a situation. Then there are the drunk...

I forgot about Zane's video. It is somewhat cargo van specific. There are no motorcycle crashes, but it does explain our business. http://www.expeditersonline.com/forum/newbies-paradise-forum/57222-my-take-expediting-video.html

    Lincoln Highway

A less scenic stretch of the Lincoln Highway runs between I-57 and I-65. I've run the length on a few occasions to avoid major backups on I-80. I tried counting signal lights once. I lost track at 347 and hadn't even crossed into Indiana.

Sure the wages are high, but so is the cost of everything else. I have a friend that is a surveyor. He and his company are based in the Minneapolis area. He spends a few weeks at a time in North Dakota. His company pays for lodging and per diem, plus extra for being away from home...

    MATD. Where Are They?

People that are texting are more apt to react to their mistakes and avoid a collision, drunks, if they react at all, most likely will overreact. Neither is desirable to share the road with, but, if I had to choose one, it would be the texter.

    Willis

I believe willis to be a pseudonym for a regular E.O. member, allowing that member to view other's profiles incognito. I know because I viewed other members profile page under the screen name Lawrence and found that willis had already visited. Kinda like Kilroy.

Happy Anniversary Willis! Willis' 5 year anniversary was last Saturday. Sorry I'm late with this. I just don't know where the time went. Wow, 5 years and not a single post. Lots of peeking but no posting.

    Cargo Van O/O

Last week I saw a Load One cargo van (regular cargo van, Ford?) twice on the Ohio Pike. The first time was at night. I was going east, it was going west. Saw it again late the next day going east while I was going west. I have never seen a regular cargo van on with Load One. Was this an old...
