Do cargo vans even have any sort of future in expediting?

I dunno. Wouldn't that be a great help if I did know that, with no uncertainty?

    Generator question

Let me know if you end up needing a generator. It's a little heavier, at 73# dry weight but it rated 2000/2400 and it works!! Yes, I finally got my Hyundai back. Apparently it was a bunch of BS between the shop and Midland Power, the warranty administrator, that delayed it's repair. I need to...

Do cargo vans even have any sort of future in expediting?

Virtually "free from DOT" is a luxury. Luxuries and freedoms come at a cost. Whether it's monetary or otherwise. The team straight with the WRONG carrier can very well be envious of the income generated by the solo vanner with the RIGHT carrier. All that before my second cup of coffee. :)

    Trucks Vs Cargo Van/Sprinter

Too many factors to answer that definitively. IMHO.

I soooooo want your business to make you too busy to get on the road. But if you go vanner and can go out 10-20 days at a time let me know. Just a thought.

    Welcome to June, 2014

That's fantastic!! I kinda hate being off the road now. Mine's up to about 465,000 on that 4.8 and doesn't use a drop of oil. Oil pressure at 70 MPH still right at 40 psi. And to think I'm considering getting rid of the van. I hate to see it parked so much when it's made about $235K in 22...

    Welcome to June, 2014

We like Chicago & Milwaukee. Takes about 6-8 hours of patience M-F but usually works well for us. Or at least it did for the 2 Sprinters we got loaded out of there today. One out of Batavia & the other out of Oshkosh. Both long loads.

Do cargo vans even have any sort of future in expediting?

I imagine many shippers will kick in a few extra duckies for the flexibility of "near-DH" or the ability for the load to grow. Especially those loads that are "pick at xx:xx and we'll load as much as we can make on your truck".

    Welcome to June, 2014

If there's anything out of there you have a decent shot at it. There's only 2 Sprinters and a van posted there on Sylectus. That's certainly not ALL the non-DH trucks there but a whole lot less than in others border towns!!!
