    parking problems

Lousy T/S, dirty restrooms so shower probably no better, but they have van parking for overnite at the corner of Ecourse and Inkster. The omelets and home fries at the attached "Grandma's Kitchen" are among the best in Detroit.

    GIVE UP

Mr Wagon: The following italicised words you posted in a deleted thread are interpreted by me that you indeed wish to embark on a personal vendetta against the carrier (name deleted) to which your former owner was leased, so for you to accuse me of being unfair, by stating such, is...

    GIVE UP

Chuck: Back in November you told us, in this forum, that you intended to hold your owners truck hostage if he didn't pay you what you believed you had coming your way. You receivedd the following advice on 18 Nov.: There is no shortage of disrespect, in these fora, for those owners who fail...

    Solo or team?

An example: A solo in a D truck earns $1000 while a team earning 67% more gets $1670. If the team truck owner gives his co-driver the typical 20%, or $334, the owner will have the remainder, $1336. The team will also have driven 67% more miles and pay 67% more for fuel and also have a...

    Rose Colored Glasses

Washington and Oregon are the two States where we have neither picked-up nor delivered. We've been there, as well as Alaska and Hawaii, but not as expediters.

    Rose Colored Glasses

I've spent the best part of the last 17+ years expediting through 46 States and 3 Canadian Provinces. We have traveled over 1.5 million miles in a total of 5 vans and throughout this time we have been approached by all manner of folks, including the young and old, workers and retirees...

    Solo or team?

FedEx Custom Critical's annual revenue statistics for the years 2002-2004 indicate that their fleet average for trucks where there were two people in a truck for at least 60% of the loads are as follows. A team in a van will earn 33% more than a solo, A team in a C truck will earn 69% more than...

YOU HAVE TO QUIT EXPEDITING - WHAT WILL YOU DO ??

RE: YOU HAVE TO QUIT EXPEDITING - WHAT WILL YOU DO A backflow prevention device is commonly installed on a lawn sprinkler system so that water cannot be siphoned back into my household water supply from the undergroung sprinklers. If not tested annually for proper operation, and the backflow...

VICTIMS OF OUR OWN SUCCESS ??

Whoa...Step back, and once again take off the rose colored glasses. I think it's quite possible for a team in a D truck to gross $2 million in 10 years, but to suggest that a large portion of 1.8 million, minus a few dollars for fuel, finance and operating expenses is a bit of a stretch, even...

OVM: One of the freedoms we enjoy in these United States is the freedom of expression of ones views on any subject. If you share the view of other writers, it would be appropriate to give credit to that writer if you are going to replicate their works. Brian Farmer of Appleton, WI would...

VICTIMS OF OUR OWN SUCCESS ??

Our first full year with Roberts Express was 1990. I no longer have records for that year so the following numbers are the best I can recall. We grossed $48,000 to the truck. A 1989 cargo van was $10,000. Gasoline was 80 cents a gallon. The standard non-discounted rate to the van was 99.8...

    Sprinter Van Problems

I use a fuse for each item in the event something goes goofy with the gadget or the wireing shorts. I'd rather have a blown fuse rather than a hot wire and eventual fire. An inline fuse is a good alternative to the block but the block is cheaper and handier.

    Sprinter Van Problems

Markafd: I have no solution to your specific problem, but perhaps a preventive remedy that might circumvent problems for those outfitting a new vehicle. Each of my vans have two deep-cycle batteries and a seperate fuse block through which I connect all auxilliary electical equipment...

    What van should I buy?

Zoli Before anyone buys a van that will be used to haul a lot of weight or bulk, they would be well advised to check the curb weight of the van and the GVWR. The difference is the capacity of the van cargo. A Sprinter, for example, includes a typical driver and full fuel tank in the curb...
