    Sprinter Transmission

If you have the luxury, ask a few people locally, who is a good mechanic. Most of the stuff you do to a Sprinter you don't need a Sprinter tech to do. Brakes, water pumps, alternators, transmission swaps. It's been my experience that if you find a shop that's been in the same crappy, rat hole...

    Sprinter Transmission

So you know who's going to install it? Mine was installed by my regular, non-Sprinter mechanic at home. They don't have a bay tall enough for thy Sprinter, so they jacked up the front wheels and crawled under it to do the swap. It also turned cold and rainy that day, so they skirted the van...

    Sprinter Transmission

I do not do it myself. I have it done at either my regular (Non-Sprinter) mechanic at home, my Sprinter mechanic at home, or at Wayne's World in Toledo. I have the pan dropped and the filter changed every time.

    Sprinter Transmission

I concur. I really don't think I'd recommend BG ATF Plus for a non-Silverstar transmission. It is a friction modifier and requires the compatible clutch materials (or, as noted, the trans is already slipping and is on its last leg, anyway). The only reason I use it is because Silverstar...

    Sprinter Transmission

The interval recommendations have certainly changed over the years. In the manual for those early Sprinters (mine is 2005) flatly states change the fluid "once only at 80,000 miles." A lot of people did just that, and then replaced the transmission at 250,000-300,000 miles. Turned out, if it's...

    Sprinter Transmission

Top notch. I change the fluid every 35,000 to 50,000 miles, erring closer to the lower figure (per Silverstar recommendation). The OEM transmission lasted me 372,000, which is in the middle of the typical 350,000-400,000 shelf life range of the OEMs. The Silverstar has 401,000 on it now, but I...

    Sprinter Transmission

I have a Silverstar in my Sprinter. The book time on a transmission swap is 10 hours. The real time is 5-6 hours. Any experienced mechanic can swap it out.

    Good retirement job?

Yeah that's what I recommend to all newbies thinking about getting into expediting - buy a reefer straight truck.

    Good retirement job?

To add to what the others have said, first, when you get into expediting, you are literally starting a small business. It's the same as starting a business as a construction worker, a plumber, a cosmetologist, a lawn care maintenence landscaper. Your success or failure depends on no small part...

Expedite Expo From An Owner Operators View (Amazing)

That's a really good video. It's like it was shot and edited to a story board. Very impressive. And the drone shots were prefect.

    The Deep State Files

Yes, it's a little petty, and unprecedented ,for Trump to revoke security clearances for former Intel officials. It's also just as petty, and unprecedented, for former Intel officials to partisanly publicly critize the current president. You reap what you sow. I do think it would be better...

    The Deep State Files

Watch the MSM fall over themselves and explode with fake outrage to defend Brennan, et al, and their security clearances. Already it's being framed as Trump punishing people for criticizing him, and of course, the "unprecedented" word gets bandied about as if that is important. Prior to 2016...

$375 may be what it's worth, if the previous owner wasn't anal about maintenance.
