    UPS Linehaul

Recently I noticed a huge increase in the number of small, unknown carriers pulling UPS 53 footers and pups. Did UPS negotiate some concessions from the Teamsters concerning road drivers and outside carriers? Has anyone else noticed this?

    The Netherlands To Abandon Multiculturalism

Its not so much Islam, although that was the main group mentioned in the article, but the failure or reluctance to assimilate. Until very recently the U.S. was considered a "melting pot". Most immigrants felt it necessary to learn the language and customs to survive, integrate and get ahead...

    The Netherlands To Abandon Multiculturalism

It is the very last line that I found most significant. "Although society changes, he says, it must not be "interchangeable with any other form of society."

I suppose I could make it complex by taking my compass apart and removing the needle. I could then paint the red end of the needle white and the white end red, then reassemble it.

    hello All

Great post! While driving for an owner I would suggest you treat the owners van like it was your own. Keep track of all loads, what they pay, mileage, fuel and maintenance costs. This will give you a fairly accurate picture of what you will face as an owner/operator to determine if you can...

    Fuel prices in Ecuador

Our government subsidizes fuel here, just not at the consumer level. Farmers get subsidies to grow corn and soybeans for fuel with our tax dollars and then we get to pay more at the pumps for this fuel. Socio-capitalism at its finest.

    Welcome to June, 2014

It was/is the starter. 757,000 miles on the original. Panther sent out a service truck from the T/A in Sawyer. 3½ hours later I was rolling. All the guy could do was short out the starter with the blade of his knife. In the dark it looked like he was arc welding under my van. It started...

    Welcome to June, 2014

I've got freight but I ain't moving. I'm sitting at a service plaza on the Indiana Tollway, my van won't start. Battery is good, I turn the key and the gauges light up, but not even a click from the starter. I had a nice run from Elyria, OH to Medford, WI. Looks like I will chock up my...

I never did the orientation thing either. Next month will be 8 years with Panther and I have never set foot nor tire on their property. I'm in the neighborhood this morning (Wooster) but I don't think I will be stopping by for coffee.
