    Cargo Van Dodge ProMaster

Does the Promaster ride rough only when empty or lightly loaded or is it a rough ride all the time? Is the rough ride due to most of the weight in the first 6'?

Do cargo vans even have any sort of future in expediting?

I had a dessicated run one winter from Minneapolis to Fond Du Lac and return, 2-3 times a week. This lasted about 3 weeks before it dried up. When I got the news this run was over I was decimated and took to drinking,

    Vehicle Question / Which Carrier

I agree and it is turning into a disadvantage. I'm leased to a "biggie" and estimate that at least 60% or more of my loads are booked through a 3PL. The 3PL takes a cut and the biggie with their large overhead takes a cut. Smaller carriers have lower overhead due to fewer employees and modest...

    Van insulation

There is an alternative to fiberglass insulation, UltraTouch Denim. http://www.bondedlogic.com/pdf/denim-insulation/UltraTouch-Denim-Spec-Sheet.pdf It appears to be heavier than fiberglass or foam board. I insulated my bulkhead with a similar material I call automotive insulation. My van came...

Do cargo vans even have any sort of future in expediting?

As the saying goes, freedom isn't free. As an O/O you are exposed to more financial risk but for me it is worth it. I could never go back to a real job.

While researching expediting he apparently missed your embrace the stupidity post. Just did some research. It was Newt that started that thread where Turtle coined the phrase: Embrace the stupidity...

Do cargo vans even have any sort of future in expediting?

You needn't call me sir, Moot will do fine. Having a spouse with a full time job and hopefully medical benefits that cover you and your daughter are a great advantage for you starting out in expediting.

new to ExpOnline, weighing options, keeping myself informed/educated

Go for it! I was just offering a way to get you some T/T experience that you could parlay into a high paying LTL job. If you don't want drive a T/T just say so. I know I don't want to drive one and one more van out here probably won't have any effect on my income. Good luck!

Why do people post thread after thread blaming the American people?

To add to Turtle's post, lenders were more apt to delay foreclosure proceedings and let people remain in their houses because; they couldn't afford to maintain any more vacant properties and they were hoping for a government bailout.

I used Windows Paint to bake the cake. Then I saved it to My Pictures and uploaded it to Photobucket. I copied the Photobucket version, logged on to E.O., started this thread and pasted the picture. For me it isn't simple, but it is fun!

There are no limitations for cooking one's self in a van. You want well done, Laredo in August. Slow cook, Kansas City in May. Poached, Savannah in June. See, no limitations.

A salute from food city...no product hype....nicely done

I was just making a joke. I did live near a store called Food Lane when I was a kid. Ching Johnson, a customer was shot in the store during a robbery. He survived and one of the bullet holes could be seen in the acoustic ceiling tile near the entrance.

The Food Hamlet chain I speak of is owned by El-MER-JOHN-SON Food Stores. The first Food Hamlet opened in 1963 in the wheat growing hamlet of White Butte, SD about 25 miles north of Bison, SD where OVM and Juju reside.
